TheGent (144), , Massachusetts, USA May 10, 2009 A very well balanced beer with all the different hop varieties. You get bits of pine and citrus and grassiness with nothing being to overdone. A IPA that makes you want to just drink and enjoy, not murder you slowly with over hoppiness. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA May 9, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden in color with white head. Aroma sweet and citrus hops. Taste grapefruit and citrus hops with bitter finish. tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA May 7, 2009 I bought this bottle based upon the suggestion that if I like grapefruit-y IPAs, I will love this one.
It poured golden orange, and smelled of hops and pure Port Awesomeness.
I didnt see where people were getting the essence of grapefruit from, but it was still a good IPA. Nice and hoppy, but doesnt smash your pallet like a hobo in need of building supplies.
Not too thick that it’s sticky, not too thin that the flavor runs. petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA May 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours amber with decent head. Hops, hops, hops. In aroma, in flavor, in finish. Nice west coast IPA johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England May 3, 2009 Bottle. Clear with a medium head.Hoppy as you would expect and quite complex.
Bitter but with uncompromising hoppiness. Excellent and on reflection perhaps worth more than 3.8. thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway May 2, 2009 Bottle from Beermerchants. Hazy golden with a rich off-white head. Nice and complex citrus hop aroma: grapefruit with some balancing sweet honey and bread. Complex hoppy flavours blending with bready maltiness, ending dry. Yeasty. The solid bready base for the hop attack makes this beer great. nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 1, 2009 Bomber. Hazy light orange with a dense and rocky white head. Hoppy and definitely west coast in style. Resiny, floral sweetness, very lightly spicy, honeyed malt. Similar flavor, excellent hoppy finish. Sweetness to balance the hops, very smooth, super drinkable. On sale today for 4.99, awesome. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 29, 2009 Bottle (65 cl) from Ölbutikken. Hazy deep golden, large rocky white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, pine, some dark berries as well. Very clean malt profile. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation. Dry with a long earthy bitterness. Very pleasant IPA.
