With 78 IBUs. Our version of a West Coast IPA- brewed in the San Diego style. This massively hoppy beer gets its flavor and attitude from no less than five hop varieties including Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Summit.

22oz bomber. Pours a orange straw with a small white head. The nose is full of hops and sweet citrus. The taste is hoppy with cut with pine or some woodyness I’d agree with Foolish_Mortal. Also there is a bit of lingering citrus that sticks with the tongu for a while. The multiple hop varities can be distinguished at least by the fact that the hop push is not uniform it is more complex and bitter then expected.

22oz. bottle. Hazy orange-yellow with large particulates, thin film of white head. Candied citrus hop aromatics combats with a heavy diacetyl butterscotch component. Sweet citrus and pine hop flavors dominate up front, slowly giving way to ruddy caramel and a floral bitterness. Residual acrid floral hop character in the finish, with a slight metallic bitterness. Mouthfeel is a light medium, rather dry.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2007 Rich caramel color with a nice thick head. Aroma has a beautiful variety of hop goodness in there from pine to citrus to a rich bouquet of hop flowers. Taste is a full body hop blast with several hop varieties distinguishable. As expected, quality malts balance things out, but its still a monster. Brews like these are why I love beer. Another high quality west coast IPA. It really is a shame that the Alesmitths, Pizza Ports, & Bear Republics are so hard to find out East as I think they could be big hits as Stone and others have proven.

Finally had some pizza port! Brought to CT4 by me. Very sweet hoppy aroma that didnt seem astringent or bitter at all but very crisp and hoppy. Flavor was smooth and citrusy with a lot of oranginess but the hops did not overpower at all as it was backed up with quite a bit of caramel hops.

This offering from Pizza Port pours a cloudy dark caramel with a thick tan head. The first thought is pure west coast hope, citrus, piney, pungent but sweet floural bouquet. There is a doughy sweetness to this brew. The taste is very good, it starts bitter hard citrus notes of lemon/lime rind hit your palate then move to a soft hony caramel feel on the palate. The mouthfeel is lightly carbonated but you always get the feeling there is something more to come with this brew, fantastic!

Last night I really enjoyed the High Tide, and the Wipeout is not disappointing. Reddish golden in color with a nice thick white head. Delicious nose is sprinkled with sweet fruit and tantalizing grapefruit. The darkness of the color lends itself to a chewier mouthfeel than its brethren with nice carbonation. Tantalizingly hoppy, very zingy, with the requisite pine, lemon, apples, with some caramel malt along for the ride. Very nice, indeed. Thanks Andy, for sure.

Shared by bgburdman and Bruno the Terrible Essay Writer at C-bus tasting #4. Great caramel aroma with citrus hops behind it. Really cool looking orange color with a light head. Very full palate for an IPA. Great malt backbone supports the bitter hops that you get throughout. Very bitter in the finish. Really solid IPA. Thanks for sharing fellas!
