With 78 IBUs. Our version of a West Coast IPA- brewed in the San Diego style. This massively hoppy beer gets its flavor and attitude from no less than five hop varieties including Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe and Summit.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 (re-rate: cask at Ritual) even better on cask - rich mouthfeel on top of the flavors as mentioned; the only downside is that I didnít want to sample any of the other beers (tasting at Brickskeller) amber with small light tan head. Lovely floral hops aroma. Flavor was citrus and floral hops. Just enough malt to carry the hops.

Ok, I donít like IPAís. This one had a great sweet hoppy aroma that promised a pleasant experience. The taste though was definitely a strong blend of hops with the cascade hops coming forward quite intensely. At the end of the day I liked it but it was just too darn hoppy for me.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured an hazy brown color ale with a big foamy head with better then average retention. Aroma of deep citrus hops with some piney notes. Taste is also dominated by huge citrusy hops with some great caramel malt to back-up the whole thing together. Body is above average with some medium filtration and some adequate carbonation. Overall, a good west coast interpretation of the style but nothing earth shattering either.

Appearance: Pours a clear, light copper body with a white head. Smell: A bit of understated aroma of caramel and pine. Taste: Toasted caramel with resinous pine and plenty of bitterness and acidity along the way. Thatís about Iím getting oughta this one. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Moderately carbonated. Drinkability: Just another in a long line of IPAs.

A 22 of Wipeout drank on your patio at 4pm on a sunny southern californian afternoon is pretty damn satisfying. Similar to lots of of other ipaís but a little less agressive than some of its brothers.

22. Thanks, Aspidites! Pours medium gold with ambery highlights. Giant flowery hop nose. Sweet floral candy all over the place. Big tingly forward attack; medium body, hot resiny bitterness as you get nearer the finish. Quite the grand tour of hop varieties--this is amazing stuff and I really wish I could get it all the time.
