Opened this one on the chilly balcony of my room at the Princess a couple weeks ago and on a few minutes the elusive desert warmth appeared. Hazy deep copper pour with orange highlights and a y’all rocky white head. Massive citrus and pine aroma. Flavor of fresh ruby red grapefruit atop a solid malt backbone. Classic West Coast aggressive hop profile but extremely well balanced. Rich texture and citrusy, bitter finish. A great West Coast IPA. Lagunitasfan (433), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2009 22 oz bottle. Orange amber, and I had to pour vigorously to get a half-finger of creamy white head. Foam settled to oil-slick and bubbly ring. Crystal clear. Nose is the deep sharp hops, and honey. Taste is astringent hops, then the smallest bit of sweet. Real bitter. Tiny bit of caramel sweetness in the back, then back to bitter. Not bad, but not all that. Jukkabro (3005), Tampere, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Dark yellow-brown colored with hazy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Dry and bitter, fruity aroma with mild peaches and thin caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is sweeter in start with same peach, aftertaste dries strongly with bitterness. Well, still somehow disappointment with one dimensional flavor. dkachur (2349), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

The body is strong enough, with good toffee flavor, medium-light sweetness, strong bitterness. Good. SuIIy (1427), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2009 The pour was a slightly cloudy copper color with a sudsy white head that produced great rings of lacing. The aroma was lots of pine and maybe some hemp with nice citrus and malt contrast. The flavor was a well balanced blend of light citrus hops, sweet caramel and hefty dose of earthy pine. Above average mouthfeel. Managed to avoid an overly sharp finish, just fruity transitioning into nice dryness.
