dagimp (108), Philly, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 21, 2009 On tap at SPTR, poured into a pint glass. Nice golden-straw color with fluffy head. I didn’t notice too much aroma except for some mild flowery scent. Mouthfeel was nice and smooth. Taste was fairly light and non-descript for an IPA. There was a little bit of flowery hops with grapefruit, however, the flavor was very mild. I was expecting more of a kick and depth of flavor from an IPA of this abv. Also, there was very little "heft" to this beer; it almost felt like I was drinking a lager. Not a bad IPA but I wouldn’t seek it out. Sledutah (26), Utah, USA Oct 18, 2009 This pours with a cloudy appearance, with a nice head on it. Tons of great hop aroma and taste. I think this is the best IPA I’ve had in along time other than Pliny the Elder. It is a very well balanced beer between the malt and hops. Not overpowering in either way, but the hops do stand out. williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Oct 17, 2009 Cloudy and orange like an apple cider. Minor amount of head. Light comes through; no clarity.
Bitter aroma hops, more chlorine bitter than grapefruit or woody. Some decent sweet malt balance.
Hops are bold and woody. Flowery. Malt comes in as a sweet, corn-syrupy balance. Lots of grapefruit hops.
A little thick, bouncy on the tongue. Leaves a bitter film. Really grapefruity and bitter. Powerful and yet drinkable. Jblauvs (531), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Oct 16, 2009 Amber pour with an offwhite head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit hops with some nectar and some bitterness. Flavor is more of the same, some caramel sweetness in the center. spicey, citrus, resinous hops with a bitter finish. Not extremely hopped but nice complex hoppiness that is just as satisfying dionysus (95), Arizona, USA Oct 13, 2009 Bottle pours amber-orange in color with a soapy white head. Aroma is heavy in grapefruit, pineapple, and pine. Flavor follows up the same with additional notes of peach, trace amounts of toffee, and white pepper on the finish. Starts with sweet malt up front, and finishes bitter and resinous. An overall decent IPA that is bold without being TOO aggressive. tomthompson89 (1460), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 11, 2009 nice nice hoppy beer smells like a pine forrest. amber color with beige foam. nose is pine resin with some floral citrus notes. flavor is similar hops hops and more hops spicy and yummy. Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Oct 11, 2009 cloudy orange, fine white head.
hoppy , flowery hoppy, not that strong but elegant and precise.
