nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 5, 2009 On tap at Pizza Port in Solana Beach. A very similar beer to Stone Ruination. Cloudy golden orange color with a white head. Aroma is piney and citrusy hops. Same type of hops as Ruination (Amarillo I think) balanced by sweet caramel malt. Falls a tiny bit short of the kick that Ruination packs. Medium body, dry finish. Scauca (408), Lovere, Italy Feb 4, 2009 Cloudy light amber, with a little white head. Strong piney, citrusy, fruity & floral aroma. Hoppy "resinousity" mingles with a sweet maltiness.
Crispy and flavourful, dry and balanced. danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a frothy white head. Strong hop floral aroma with some sweet citrus notes. Hops continue to the flavors. Pine resins. Good citrus notes. Hop crispness is a little subdued Long dry finish with some stickiness to it. Real good IPA. BeerNeedy (60), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Feb 1, 2009 22 oz bottle. Poured a murky golden hue with a small short lived head. Instant impression of hoppiness on a par with a double IPA. High drinkability and an instant promotion to the rotation. TOSG55 (75), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA Jan 31, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange-amber, with a thin head. Aroma of a complex blend of hops, with a bit of sweetness and yeastiness. The flavor is distinctly hoppy, with floral and fruit notes (more than the usual citrus). Sweet, but not too malty. Marred a bit by a metallic aftertaste, but still very good. Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Jan 31, 2009 22oz bottle. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Strong piney aroma, very nice. Great hop flavor, real good mouthfeel, smooth and bitter at the same time. Damn good IPA. timbeer (45), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Jan 30, 2009 Bomber shared with MatSciGuy - orange/coppery color - citrus hop and malt aroma - well balanced between the two that carries into the taste. Bitter but not too, not as assertive as I was expecting but overall a very enjoyable brew. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jan 29, 2009 Hazy orange-gold, big long-lasting white head. Huge citrus and resin aroma, with an enigmatic fruitiness. Again, beguiling fruits on the palate-- the usual citrus pith, but also melon, passionfruit, guava.... Nice smooth malt structure in perfect balance. Outstanding!
