charlotte (1998), Vanløse, Denmark Jan 8, 2009 Draught at Ølbaren.Dark golden colour with small white head.Strong crispy taste of hops and grapefruits, full body and heavy bitter finish. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Jan 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a small white creamy head and lacings. Nose is grapefruity hops. Crisp, floral and fine. Bitterness backed up by a little caramel. Very simple and very nice. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark Jan 5, 2009 Orange-golden with a low head. The aroma is quite sweet with notes of tropical fruits: pinneapple, mango, peach and furtherdown citric fruits alongside caramel. The flavour is also suprisingly sweet (I expected it to be more bitter and grapish) to begin with and highly refreshing! Then the bitterness kicks in and gives a long, dry aftertase. Oh, this is great! Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Jan 3, 2009 (Bottle) Pours light hazy orange with a small off-white head. The aroma is medium bitter hoppy and light to medium crystal malty with tones of grapefruit, tangerine, black tea, black and white pepper, mango, melon, pineapple, apple juice, toast, honey, vanilla powder and white bread. A tiny touch of alcohol. The nose is a not a monster, but this bottle is not completely fresh, so some aroma hoppiness are perhaps lost. Still enjoyable. The flavour is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with tones of grapefruit, flowers, black tea and light tropical. Good toasted crystal malt backdrop with notes of honey. The finish is of resin, grapefruit and hints of pine. The mouthfeel is clean, light astringent and round. Medium bodied. leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jan 2, 2009 Bottle. Golden orange with an off-white head,. Aromas are earthy and spicy with green pine and lots of peppery notes. Flavours are toffee malts with alcohol and spices. Citrus with woody notes and pine. Warming alcohol. robertjm (399), El Cerrito, California, USA Jan 1, 2009 (New Year’s Eve tasting Flight (2 of 3) Pours a more subdued head than the fresh hop IPA I had a couple of hours ago. Aroma is also subdued, though there’s still a little there. Color of orange marmelaide. More complex flavor. Probably partially from having a plethora of hop varieties, but I’m detecting some malty sweetness undertones in there as well. I wonder if that’s why they call it a San Diego Style:? Nice "light" IPA variety. cab (862), Denmark Dec 28, 2008 Bottle.1pint. Hazy fluid with a fine crown, just by the book. Very hoppy aroma, just a bit to complex. Medium sweetness, very bitter, medium body, oily feel. jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 26, 2008 Bomber at Jerrys. Orange gold with good, foamy white head / Nose of hops, citrus and cream / Medium body, creamy with discernable malts and potent, but not bitter, hops, and fine finish / Flavors of orange, cream, cut pine, and burnt sugar / Lush, and perfect.
