The aroma has notes of spruce, citrus, mango and papaya. The mouthfeel is oily. The flavour has a good bitterness with notes of citrus, spruce, fruit, light caramel and it ends on a dry note. A little more caramel would have made the bitterness smoother/less crude in this otherwise nice beer. alobar (1015), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

Bitter hop aroma with some citrus from about a foot away. Bitter hop finish mutes the citrus. Soem graprefruit on front of tongue. Overall, very nice. raphael (412), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 27, 2008 surprised to find Port beers at the Thriftway on Vashon Island (fantastic selection there). The floral hop aroma seems a little masked, a bit musty. mildly cloudy golden color with an off white head that lingers, yet a little flat in the mouth, as well as aromatic and drying. I get taste spikes of citric bitterness, orange sweetness smoked malt. Finishes sour. luttonm (281), Belgrade, Serbia

Fresh smell of citrus hops. Well balanced weight and mouthfeel. For someone more used to DIPA this is a tasty ’normal’ version. Lots of flavor that is balanced. changeup45 (788), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Updated: May 4, 2009A bomber from Hi-Time Wine Cellars. Orange-amber color and pours with just a thin head. The aroma is citrus hops and pine but it’s a little weak. Really nice grapefruit hoppy flavor, this is very citrusy, some pine as well with light malt backing. Very nice, just like an IPA should be, and the aggressive hops are what I’ve come to expect from a good West Coast IPA. I really do like the hop profile in this one. This may fall just short of the top tier of IPAs in my book but that’s mostly because of aroma and appearance and this is a great tasting IPA. Re-rate: Few more bottles, not much more to add other than these last few bottles created a nice frothy head which yielded some heavy lacing. Much better appearance. The aroma still doesn’t match the flavor. Same nice West Coast grapefruit hoppy goodness. Becoming one of my favorite IPA’s. I love it. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Slightly hazy with a fluffy head that lingers. Aroma is somewhat of a letdown. Just not a whole lot there. Palate is medium body and great malty balance to the crisp hop bitterness. My first Port Brewing beer, and I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. If I could get this regularly, I’d drink it a lot. Aquired in a trade with bmartin. Thanks!!! Theis (3651), Denmark

Pretty hoppy but not overly bitter. A little more sweet than I was expecting as well. Very drinkable. Absolutely delicious!
