| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Sample at the Carlsbad brewpub. This brew is clear orange with a medium thin and fluffy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Citrusy hops aroma with some pine and malt. Moderately hoppy character with pine and orange peel notes, as well as some malt in the background. The finish is somewhat bitter and hoppy with a lingering grapefruity hops aftertaste. Solid all around. timfoolery (484), California, USA

It had strong grapefruit hit on the palate early, while holding a limited smooth aftertaste. However, it lingered a bit too long for me to rate this higher. Overall, very good. luvcasks (178), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Golden with some reddish notes with a nice short lived head.
Nose of resinous tangerine and woody notes along with toasty notes
Flavor: Very drying with with toast notes and rich hop flavors leading from spicy, resiny, grapefruit and woodyness.
Palate: For a big IPA the malt is sudued and the finish is medium length finishing dry with toast notes.
Overall: There is a certain refreshing dryness in this IPA which is characteristic of the west coast style typified by Russian River, Stone and Pizza Port - the other west coast styles like Alesmith enjoy the benefit of an orchestrated malt back ground to highlight the hops oteyj (724), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Pours a nice hazy amber with one finger head. Nose is piney, acrid, and hugely citrusy. Flavor is acidic and cutting, but not overly so. Excellent bittering- Simcoe quite evident. Flavor is powerful, though not overwhelming. Palate is smooth and full for an IPA, with a dry, hoppy finish. Excellently balanced and crafted- nice job. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Bottle from Monument Liqour in Concord, CA. Poured a murky yellow color with the aroma of citrus. A little rough on the palate. Too many hops and not enough malt to balance. Not bad, but it could be better. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 24, 2008 bottle. MIddling appearance, a bit darker than many IPAs, small-ish but thick head that sticks around. Mild aromas of grapefruit and citrus fruits, with notes of fruity sweetness. Middling bitterness starts out, backed up by toasted caramel biscuit sweetness. Flavors of oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, and some peppery notes make up the hop character. Relatively well balanced for an IPA, especially one from the west coast. Decent palate and finish, with an even smoothness.
