dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA May 19, 2008 Shared with Ian and Deanna. Pours a cloudy orange amber with a frothy thick white head. Big spicy hoppy citrus aroma. Taste is dry grapefruit juice, malt, hops, and chewy carbonation. Dry bitter citrusy aftertaste. Really nice IPA. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA May 17, 2008 22oz. bomber. Somewhat dirty brass colored pour. Not a lot of foam, and no lace. Strong grapefruit/citrus aroma and flavor. The hop varieties seem balanced, but there is not an overpowering bitterness. The beer really begins to shine as it warms just a bit, so don’t go ice cold on it. Very nice IPA. SamGamgee (1393), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA May 15, 2008 22oz bottle. Slightly hazy burnt orange with a creamy head. Grapefruit, some mango, pine, toffee fill the nose. The body is full and sweet with a smooth carbonation. Nice full maltiness, on the pale side. Hops are smooth and citric-tropical. Not overly bitter. Maybe a little on the malty side, which shouldn’t make sense for a SD IPA, but ya, I live in southern Califirnia, kinda. I’m down with it, but not the most amazing rendition. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 14, 2008 It’s an American IPA and I do like it. Cloudy rich amber with a huge firm white head that looks like you could stand a spoon up in it. Nose of grapefruit, orange, and pine. Taste of grapefruit, pine, and sweet malts, with a strong bitter finish. Not crazy bitter, but the bitterness lasts. GMCC2181 (844), Bear, Delaware, USA May 12, 2008 Shared by Roberto! SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA May 11, 2008 Slightly hazy golden pour with a small white head. Lots of hopiness in tha arome, balanced out with some citrus and malt. Flavor is very similar, with the hop bite nicely balanced out by caramel and fruit flavors. A nicely done IPA. sunevdj (1753), Copenhagen OE, Denmark May 8, 2008 Pours a clear sparkling amber with a small off-white head. Quite bitter with a hint of caramel aromas. Lots of bittering hops. I could spot the amarillo and the simcoe. Medium bodied. Also some residual sugars. High carbonation. Long bitter finish. Good. blklab2007 (931), Connecticut, USA May 3, 2008 22 oz. bottle poured a golden color with medium carbonation and a white head that faded to a ring in the glass. aroma has peach, sweet hops, caramel malt, and sweet fruit. flavor is nice sweet fruity hops, caramel malt, and citrus. just a terrific beer with a sweet hopped flavor.
