| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2008 22oz bottle: Burnt amber core, orange highlights and a thick, whipped head on top. A nice blend of apricot, tangerine, orange and grapefruit meet the nose. The body is quite chewy for an IPA, with a healthy dose of buttery caramel balancing the mild bitterness. Fruity hops again take the reigns as the beer finishes rindy and grassy. A very solid example of the style. drfabulous (1231), Columbia, Missouri, USA

Total taste. This is the way IPAs should be. I could drink it everyday. But I live in Missouri. So, I can’t. Damn you long distance! Damn you to hell! YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Slightly hazy orange/copper with a frothy white head. Citrus hops, lemongrass, pineapple, and some caramel notes. Pretty straightforward hop-laden IPA that was tasty and refreshing. Another Hophead’s dream. Glouglouburp (2810), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2008 In short: A ton of very tasty hops but too thin on the malt side. Very good but could have been great.
How: Bottle 22oz, from Secret Festivus Dude. Thanks a lot whoever you are.
The look: Partly cloudy golden body with a medium white head.
In long: Powerful and pleasant nose of grapefruit and pine-tree. Taste is very unbalanced. This beer lacks malt thickness to balance that mountain of hops. Almost watery, the airy body provided only a light caramel note and was totally dominated by the hops. The hopping though is quite something. Orange peels, some pine-tree with more and more grapefruit as the beer warmed-up. Strong juicy bitterness. Some dry grass in the finish too. The end result is a very good beer but it is also about as bitter and unbalanced as my cousin Louis.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Sampled at MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering in Maplewood, MN and supplied by joet. From a 22-oz bomber pours a hazy golden amber brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet grapefruit zest and pink grapefruit juice that overpowers the light malt flavor. Taste is a typical west-coast IPA bitterness that is medium bodied, some carbonation and plenty of grapefruit and pine character. Finish is just as bitter as the aroma and flavor that even linger around after the finish. TURDFERGUSON (1597), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Bottle from Craig. Thanks. Pours a deep, slightly glowing orange with a small off-white head. Nose is fresh with floral hops, some tropical fruits, pine, citrus and some caramel malt. Unlike other recent raters, I found the nose quite appealing. Flavor is grassy hops, with some more pine and a mild malt backbone. Flavor is a bit muted and watery when compared to the aroma. Finish is nice and bitter. Definitely an above average ipa. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 12, 2008At first, the beer seems pretty commonplace. Not the sour flavor of some IPA’s, but a crisp light flavor. Not much aroma to this one. But the hops kick in with a slightly dank piney and resinous flavor. Tastes like Simcoe! It sticks around a little while before fading. A sneaky but above average IPA. tytoanderso (1385), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Only a hint of cat pee on the nose. Big, bright pine, cedar and lemon zesty hops. Pours bright gold with a bright white head. Flavor is grassy, leafy and very fresh hop tasting. Medium bodied with a lasting wet cut grass finish.
