Pours a nearly opaque orangy amber with medium white head. Aroma is full of hops, pine and citrusy with a hint of some weird urine type smell. Flavor is moderately bitter but full of sweet malts. Finish is on the shorter side but pleasantly bitter and hoppy. Good IPA. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Jan 2, 2008 Dark orange amber with a thick creamy off white head and sticky lacing.
Strong aroma oc citrus and hops and pine.
Flavor is medium powered hopps and citrus with a nice bitter hoppy finish. hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 2, 2008 Bomber. Cloudy amber/orange pour with frothy white head. Citrus aroma. Nice balance between hops and sweet malt flavors. Also picked up some flavors of chalk and mustard seed. Citrus finish. tomhenderson (126), Carolinas area, USA Dec 30, 2007 22 oz bomber. Poured a fairly hazy straw color with a half-finger head that laced the glass nicely. Aroma was rich with sweet caramel malts and classic American hops, mostly Cascade. The flavor was similarly classic. Mouthfeel was very creamy. Moderately bitter; perfect for an IPA. Wish Port would open an east coast brewery (NC!). A very nice, classic American IPA! holdenn (1432), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 29, 2007 22oz bomber. thanks to my Secret Santa for this. Pours a golden orange with a tall fluffy head. Citrus, grapefruit, and caramel nose. It seems though a touch off with a earthy green notes. Decently bitter. Fruity, toffee, with a touch of chocolate and the pine, grapefruit, and earthy hops around it. The earthiness seems a bit off still, but decent none the less. pepsican (884), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Dec 27, 2007 Pours amber with a thick head. Aromas of hops, citrus, and caramel. Flavor is similar, I pick up hazelnut and grapefruit also. While nothing sticks out as holy crap amazing, this is probably the most balanced IPA I’ve tried. Nothing over the top, just good. I could use quite a few more bottles. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Dec 27, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy, straw color with a just off-white head. Big citrus hop aroma; oranges, grapefruit and lemon. Slight caramel malt aromas as well. There’s a sweet maltiness that hits at first sip but the overwhelming bitterness overtakes it almost instantly. Tons of grapefruit. Lingering bitter finish. I’d say this beer is a classic west-coast IPA.
