| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Bottle: Deep orange, dirty and full of sediment, large rocky off-white head, clingy lacing.   Semi-sweet citrusy nose, mild hop
bitterness.   Has somewhat of a cheesey funk to it too.   Strong citrus aspect on the tongue.   Assertive hop presence but not
overpowering.   Malts compliment the bitterness very well.   This one has the citrus background but without all the harshness one
would expect from the rind.   Very well done.   Does pick up a bit more rind as it warms.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.
This one seems to be heavily on the citrus side, very minor tea and tobacco leaves.   Not a lot of floral or what I would call hop
bitterness, but for being a citrus oriented IPA I thought it was quite nice.   Thanks for sharing Dane.

I was sooooo stoked when they decided to bottle this! Pours a light copper, nose of citrus fruits, nice hint of malt as well. Ibrew2or3 (2724), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 6, 2007 Bomber pours a clear deep gold with a slight copper hue and off white head. The aroma is mild with sugar smelling malts and mild grapefruit hop bitterness. The taste has a solid malty sweetness and a delicious mix of grapefruit hop bitterness and sweet flavor. Certainly a nice example of the classic San Diego IPA. glennmastrange (836), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Tap. The best aromas from any IPA. Malt smells of roasted and caramel, a heavy smell of pine, resin and orange for the hops, and a moderate yeast note of broth, with wood, toffee and pepper in the background. Head is huge, white, creamy/wispy, is mostly lasting and lacing coats the glass better than 50%. Color is clear amber/orange. Flavor starts moderately acidic and bitter, and the long finish is heavily bitter and lighty acidic/sour. Palate is light to medium, between watery and oily and has a lively carbonation. it finishes moderately astringent. The aroma is perfect, cold or warmed. This is the best IPA I’ve had yet. thegreat78 (32), San Marcos, California, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Pours a hazy orange amber color with a two finger off white head that resists fading. A good amount of lacing present. The smell is floral pine and grapefruit over a sweet malty presence. Full bodied the mouth feel is adequately carbonated and conditioned by the high intensity hops. There is a balance sweet malty character as well. Full flavored, the sweet malt and piny taste combination yields to a grapefruit after taste that linger appropriately. I’m not sure what style this is more true to; an IPA or a Double IPA...no, i take that back. This rivals many high end double ipas.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Very sharp citrusy with minor pine aroma. Flavour is very hoppy with a slight alcohol burn... one dimensional. A little unbalaned, would be good to have just a little more in the malt department. Cheers! biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy deepamber/orange color with a big white head. Very hoppy aroma - lots of both pine and citrus. Flavor is much the same, with some malt coming through a bit. Definitely on the bitter side. Really solid brew. I wrote out one review for this guy, but apparently it went straight to my head and I never hit Add Rating. So here’s a redo.
Big nose of tropical fruit - pineapple and mango hops. Taste is just a notch off but quite good, providing an altogether very enjoyable beer that gets really good as I get into the bottle. Maybe next time around I’ll be able to leave a few more details here and not rely on a days-old memory. 4/8/7/4/16
7-8/09 Impressive in a couple of on-tap visits at Fiddler’s, lots of apricot. Head to head against Pliny it is remarkably similar, but marred with a more chemical flavor and less fresh-herbal goodness. Still, heck of a beer. Let’s give it a bit of a bump from the previous 3.9.
