22 oz bottle from after4ever. Pour is a cloudy yellow, visible carbonation and big, fluffy, white head. Aroma is citrus hop, floral and a presence of biscuity malt. Aroma is mostly the hop, though. Taste is grapefruit tart citrus hop to start, nice balanced malt middle and a fairly long, resiny finish. Nice hop bitterness throughout. Palate is a touch watery, though this did add to its drinkability. Nice everyday IPA, for those with access to this everyday. Thanks for this one, Tom!

Huge ivory rocky head over a hazy golden beer with a fresh citrus hop nose. Lots of pine, orange rind and grapefruit with a caramel sweetness. A little too much water, but still a nice hop head beer.

I just love Port’s IPA’s! They always tend to have a house hop profile and yeast character that I really find enjoyable. Nice puffy head with whisps of peaks like egg whites. Nice aromatic quality with notes of the typical citrus, pine and a bit of cattiness. Soft, creamy mouthfeel with some good malt complexity. Good caramel character that lends a bit of balance with the bitterness of the hops. Slight resin quality on the tail end, but still overall very enjoyable.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a dark gold. Nice, medium sized white, bubbly head. Earthy, piney aroma aroma. Perfect mix of floral hops in the mouthfeel. Finishes clean, with a hint of bitterness. Wonderful beer for a hot summer day.

Bottle. Nice strong, hoppy IPA. Full aroma of earthy, citric, piney hops, and floral notes. Palate is bitter and hoppy, lots of hops, quite floral and grapefruity with notes of pine and lychee coming through aswell. Nice long finish, Fresh and floral.

On tap @ City Beer Store, SF. White head with tight texture, nice amber/copper hue. Hoppy nose, great citrus and hop flavor with a clean bitter finish. Will definitely have again.

22oz Bomber Recieved in trade via AdamB84. An excellent trader. Pours a slightly hazed over copper with hints of ruby highlights. A two finger creamy dense antique white head formed on the pour that fell to one finger of even more creaminess. Big bursts of carbonation rise to the surface. Leaves drink history lacing. A solid dose of biscuity and caramel maltiness start things off but are quickly beaten aside by the hop assault. Big sugary sweetened grapefruit and soe tropicals (mang comes to mind) take center stage. The hop presence makes this beer smell like candy. This is what I expect from a Left Coast IPA. Big juicy hop attack. Again, the malt begins biscuity but toward the finish have a nice caramel flavor whic becomes a moot point rather quickly. That big sweetened grapefruit jumps in immediately and kicks every bit of the malt aside along with the help of some other juicy ripe fruits (mango and even some peach). This is definately a tongue thumper. The mouthfeel on this beer is incredible. Medium bodied but with an unbeatable silky smoothness. The hops are like a buzzsaw bittering up everything they come into contact with. It’s been a little too long since I drank a beer where the bitterness lingers like it does with Wipeout. Completely numb mouth, even lips. Perfect! The drinkability is superb. This bomber is disappearing far too quickly and I find myself wishing I had a case of this. My first sampling from Pizza Port. If their other offerings are as good, in their respective styles, as Wipeout is it’ll be tough to find anything more enjoyable. An exceptional beer that keeps the assault coming. 8/26/07
