buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jul 10, 2007 Bomber. Big thanks to ( bu11zeye ) for trading this to me. Pours a medium copper with a small frothy head. Aroma is sweetend malts and hops, Fruity Pebbles, funky pine. Flavor is quite sweet. Sugary malts, bitter hops, and pine. The finish is bitter and sort of dry. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 9, 2007 Bottle from saarlander via mystery swap 2.0.
This one pours a sort of dirty golden color with a decent white head. Smell is a bit soft, floral and earthy. Mouthfeel is a little sticky, with a slight caramel flavor and earthy notes. The aftertaste is just a bit on the piney side. This is a decent. sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2007 22oz bottle purchased from Bauer Wines in Boston for $5.99. Pouring into a 5oz glass results in a light clear gold with a bit of carbonation and head. Pours from the bottom of the bottle are completely different. It turns into a cloudy brown with lots of interesting floaty bits. It is recommended to pour this one all at once, or at least to swirl it well. Nice medium aroma of floral hops that I wish was a bit stronger. Taste is nicely rounded and hoppy - hoppy of the variety that I tend to like, not being overly grapefruity. This one is quite enjoyable, though not particularly a great value at the same price of some of the DIPA gargantuans.
tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 3, 2007 Tangerine, grapefruit citrus hops with doughy underlying malts. Hazy copper coloured body is topped by a low off white head that recedes to cover with scant sudsy lace. Citrus hops dominate the toasty and biscuity malts with aggressive and lasting bitterness. Dry medium body with low to fair carbonation. Bottle sampled with BeerPrince, CapFlu and Oakes. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jul 2, 2007 (22oz bottle) Sampled at at a gathering at TiggMTL’s place in Vancouver on June 30, 2007. Bottle courtesy of BeerPrince - Thanks! Thin, white dissipated head with an orange body. Very tart orange nose. Very bitter flavour is lots of malt. lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA Jul 2, 2007 Bomber courtesy of agl108. Pours a hazy old gold color with TONS of little floaties and a huge light-tan head on top. A very spicy, citrusy nose with lots of grapefruit and lemon juice. Pine and oranges come around as it warms up a bit. Carbonation seems a tad high, but that doesn’t detract from the flavors at all. Good body. Citrusy flavors throughout. Finishes pretty dry with that typically harsh West Coast IPA spiciness. I could pound these fuckers all day. Thanks brah! imzugzug (103), Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2007 Definitely a West Coast IPA. Nothing but hops here. No malts detected at all. Nice citrus notes and flavor. Super strong hop character, very dry and warming finish. The aftertaste hangs around till next Tuesday. Smooths out a little as it warms, but be warned, there’s a very fine line between a good drinking temp and too warm on this one. A little out of balance in my opinion but nonetheless a fine example of its type. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 27, 2007 bottle at Port Brewing tasting at the Brickskeller. cloudy dark amber. aroma is full-on hops: pine/citrus are evident. flavor does not disappoint: herbal, earthy hops in the flavor, and a spike of pine and citrus on the finish. just plain great.
