Not the sour flavor of some IPA’s, but a crisp light flavor. Not much aroma to this one. But the hops kick in with a slightly dank piney and resinous flavor. Tastes like Simcoe! It sticks around a little while before fading. A sneaky but above average IPA. pepsican (886), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2007 Pours amber with a thick head. Aromas of hops, citrus, and caramel. Flavor is similar, I pick up hazelnut and grapefruit also. While nothing sticks out as holy crap amazing, this is probably the most balanced IPA I’ve tried. Nothing over the top, just good. I could use quite a few more bottles. GMCC2181 (885), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 19, 2006 From Growler, purchased at Solana Beach location. This is one of the nicest looking beers I have ever seen. As one of the raters below me said, it’s a ruby amber color, almost fluorescent. I gave this a 9 for aroma, because, like almost all of Pizza Ports hoppy beers, you can actually smell the fresh hops in a distinctive manner. It truly smells like fresh marijuana. Amazing. Taste is super hoppy as one would expect. This is a tad harsh, but other than that, it’s a perfect beer. Maybe it’s not the best brewery in the world, but I think that NO one does hoppy beers like Pizza Port. glennmastrange (870), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Tap. The best aromas from any IPA. Malt smells of roasted and caramel, a heavy smell of pine, resin and orange for the hops, and a moderate yeast note of broth, with wood, toffee and pepper in the background. Head is huge, white, creamy/wispy, is mostly lasting and lacing coats the glass better than 50%. Color is clear amber/orange. Flavor starts moderately acidic and bitter, and the long finish is heavily bitter and lighty acidic/sour. Palate is light to medium, between watery and oily and has a lively carbonation. it finishes moderately astringent. The aroma is perfect, cold or warmed. This is the best IPA I’ve had yet. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2009 22 oz. bottle from The Red House here in Renton, Washington. Nice selection at The Red House by the way. Nice light orange haze appearance, with a rather thin head. Head is kind of spotty, but overall leaves a nice crust on top to accentuate the appearance. Nice crispy citrus/orange juice hop aroma coming off of this. Almost as pungent and as good as the Two Hearted. Ah... this beer smells pretty damn good. Sweet malts take a backseat to the nice pungent citrus hop flavor. This beer has a nice aroma. Wow, that citrus hop aroma is in your face and explodes at first. This IPA is damn good and it is relatively smooth. Nice bittering hop that keeps my tastebuds alive! A solid f’in IPA that I have really enjoyed.
