Quite an enjoyable beer we have here, and an excellent example of a quality West Coast IPA. If someone wants to put this in Webster’s dictionary, I’d support that cause. Excellent hop aroma of floral and citrus hops mingling perfectly. Flavor is expertly balanced between sweet, nut-like malts and citric/floral hops. Extremely bright and clean, very refreshing. Excellent beer.

From Growler, purchased at Solana Beach location. This is one of the nicest looking beers I have ever seen. As one of the raters below me said, it’s a ruby amber color, almost fluorescent. I gave this a 9 for aroma, because, like almost all of Pizza Ports hoppy beers, you can actually smell the fresh hops in a distinctive manner. It truly smells like fresh marijuana. Amazing. Taste is super hoppy as one would expect. This is a tad harsh, but other than that, it’s a perfect beer. Maybe it’s not the best brewery in the world, but I think that NO one does hoppy beers like Pizza Port.

ive only had 2 port beers both ipas but id have to say they know how to use hops. aroma is big citrus with touches of spruce. flavor is much the same but not without some malt sweetness to back it up. this was tremendously tasty. not complex but damn good

Pours from the bomber a translucent brownish orange body with a clumpy off white head that left sedimentary rings as the glass emptied. Smells fruity, floral, piney - very balanced aroma that is inviting and not intimidating. Flavor is well balanced too, malty, sugary, piney, lemony, grapefruit, spice even a touch of biscuit. Goes down smooth, lasting bitterness, but nothing overwhelming. The mix of hops produces a great balance between aroma and flavor. A very drinkable and loveable IPA.

22 oz bottle thanks to realale420. Pours a hazy golden color. Aromas of hops, hops and more hops that translate into citrus, pine and peach. Delicious flavor, nice and bitter with a clean maltyness. Awesome IPA.

Bomber courtesy of FlacoAlto! Thanks!!! Pours a clear copper, with 2 fingers of beige head. Smells of pine, grapefruit, hops, and other citrus flavors. Now this is an IPA, almost borders a DIPA, but wow, very good. Medium mouthfeel, flavors similar to the smells. Great hops, well balanced with a kick! My first Port beer, and i want more! Thanks again!

Surprisingly great IPA. I grabbed this tonight thinking it wasn’t anything special. Pretty hoppy but not overly bitter. A little more sweet than I was expecting as well. Very drinkable. Absolutely delicious!

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with tiny sediment particles, moderate, dense lasting off-white head with lacing. Aroma is sticky caramel, mild butterscotch, mild pine, pineapple, orange. Seemed like malt was just as pronounced as hops. Flavor has great balance, lots of hop and malt complexity for the style. Malt is mildly toasty, buttery, just a touch of sweetness. Fresh leafy hop flavors, mildly resinous, light citrus fruit and flowers. Beautiful rich, smooth consistency. Lingering bitterness and floral-fruity hop flavors. Must be one of the top two or three IPA’s I’ve tasted.
