Dec 11, 2008 Bottled. Slight hazy orange color, thin head. Aroma of loads of hop, grapefruit, soft citrus. Nice bitter taste, soft but complex. Very good IPA.

Aug 7, 2006 Draft. Ruby amber color with a nice off-white head. Grapefruit/appricot aroma. Big appricot flavor with grapefruit and pine backing. Just enough malt to balance. Lingering piney bitterness. Very good.

Oct 29, 2006 Solana Beach - Orange, thin white creamy head. Nice nose of nutty earth, pine and hints of grapefruit rind. Well bittered flavors throughout with just a faint tone of toasted chocolate and alcohol heat. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, bitter finish. If this was ever available in bottles, could easily be a staple in the fridge. As with most of the PP brews, I dig it...

May 11, 2005 OK, was lucky enough to visit the Carlsbad location and sink 2 quick beers. The first was this beauty, on cask. The low carbonation makes way for great citrus and apple fruit character up front and a solid malt backbone to finish. Great head and lacing as well on this thoroughly quenching beer.

Mar 25, 2007 The aroma and the flavor are both very grassy and herbal. The flavor is crisp, refreshing and full of citrus notes, like orange peels and slightly spicy as well.. The carbonation is pleasant - medium bubbles, very easy to drink, well-balanced IPA.

Feb 25, 2007 Cloudy orange pour, with a fizzy white head - huge, earthy amarillo and simcoe aroma - starts dry and extremely bitter, but this quickly makes way for an almost "british" bready malt sweetness - citrus fruits abound (naturally) - there is an almost musty, earthy quality throughout that makes things interesting - a solid, and somewhat original IPA.

May 14, 2008 It’s an American IPA and I do like it. Cloudy rich amber with a huge firm white head that looks like you could stand a spoon up in it. Nose of grapefruit, orange, and pine. Taste of grapefruit, pine, and sweet malts, with a strong bitter finish. Not crazy bitter, but the bitterness lasts.

Mar 27, 2006 Poured an amber color with a creamy, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, citrus (tangerine and apricot), and floral hops. Taste with a bit of caramel maltiness up front, pine, grassy hops, and a nice grapefruit bitterness.
