Brigadier (900), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Apr 21, 2008 22 oz bottle
I picked this up on January on a trip to Seattle. It’s been in the fridge ever since then and seems to have held up quite well. If I could get this locally I would be a very happy camper. If you are ever sending bonus beers and happen to have this fresh and on hand don’t hesitate to send another bottle.
Aroma / Appearance - The carbonated peach body filtered through a fair amount of light but was not totally transparent. Above was a half finger eggshell head. The smell of freshly cut grass, resin and a snowy pine forest blended into a very solid combination of hops. The florally backgrounds were offset by a smooth maltiness. Overall this was bright without being aggressive.
Flavor / Palate - The first sip revealed a warm resiny impression. The creamy mouthfeel continued to yield a sweetness among the hops that made it very palateable. It was no problem at all to complete the bottle; in fact I was wishing it had been a 750 just to get that little extra more. The only thing to be aware of is the yeast in the bottom. This is not a filitered beer so if you are expecting one you’ll only end up with a cloud of yeast.
beerbuzzmontreal (2743), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 6, 2008 Pours a cloudy peachy color with a thick, frothy offwhite head. Solid aroma of citrusy and green hops. Solid flavor of green, citrusy hops, some malt presence and bitterness in the end. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. alraicercsu (104), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a good size white head. Smells of citrus and a little sweetness. Taste the same as the smell with hops hitting strong first. RedSox2004 (175), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Oct 4, 2008 Golden orange color with a nice head and good lacing. Citrusy hops aroma with some caramel in the background. Flavors match the aromas; strong hops notes up front, characterized by wheat and grass, with a caramel sweetness that balanced things out beautifully. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, and a crisp, clean finish. My first sample from this brewer, and it’s clear these guys are serious about their craft. fredandboboflo (618), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of citrus, some pine, some raspberry. Flavor has lots of juicy hop flavor, low bitterness until a touch at the finish. Good beer. LilBeerDoctor (625), East Setauket, New York, USA Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of grapefruit, sweet citrusy hops, and some light fruits (raisin). Flavor is quite sweet for an IPA. Sweet fruit, raisin, grapefruit, with a slight bitter finish. Decent beer, ok IPA. I wish there was a little bit more hops (perhaps my bottle was slightly aged?)
