merlin48 (356), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Mar 15, 2007 22 oz bomber pours an amber body with a large and creamy offwhite head. Good retention and lots of clumpy lacing. Fruity hops nose of grapefruit and orange with a kiss of pine. Active carbonation, medium body and a hops bite on the tongue. Dry and bitter taste, hop driven. Grapefruit, pine, and rind, with a note of orange. Somewhat harsh with hops overload. Very westcoast IPA.
rayOfBeer (266), El Cerrito, California, USA Oct 15, 2008 Poured from tap an orangy-amber with medium sized off-white head. Aroma is floral citrus hoppy. Flavor has a nice little touch of caramel that is quickly overtaken by floral hops, citrus, and pine. Mild touch of sweet to the palate but carries a huge bitterness that somehow does not become astringent or vegetale. Nice job on this one. I would drink more if I could find it in the store in my area. rustychiles (489), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 9, 2008 Pours a hazy copper with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, pine. Flavor is citrusy hops, pine, malt, and a nice bitter hoppy finish. Not quite the hop bomb that some of the other west coast IPA’s are but this is a great quality California IPA that can’t be beat for the price TeamTrappist (169), jericho, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle.Copper colored, small white head. nice solid hop nose. Tastes similar to the Hop 15 but a bit milder. Just a great amount of hop flavor, but by no means overpowering. Bitter finish, but again, nothing too overpowering. Very well balanced. beerbuzzmontreal (2747), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 6, 2008 Pours a cloudy peachy color with a thick, frothy offwhite head. Solid aroma of citrusy and green hops. Solid flavor of green, citrusy hops, some malt presence and bitterness in the end. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. alraicercsu (106), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a good size white head. Smells of citrus and a little sweetness. Taste the same as the smell with hops hitting strong first.
