The creamy texture of this beer is the best part. Bomber from Charles St. in Boston. Aroma and flavor are surprisingly more subdued than I thought they would be. Expected a more agressive bitterness, piny characteristic and floral/citrus aspects. Instead, I got a very balanced beer. Malt is very pronounced, with a slightly sweet honeydew character. The hops are definitely there with light pineapple, apricot and tangerine notes, but a very soft bitterness. Excellent, but not what I was looking for. Would drink it any time, anywhere.

On tap at Harpers. Aroma is bitter grass, citrus zest, and some floral. Pours hazy blonde with a nice medium head. Taste is bitter lemon, grass, and a light malty resin finish. For the most part, this is just a bitter awesome hop bomb. Nicely played.

Pours a dark and hazy rust orange with thick white head. Has a citrus hop, malt, and earthy aroma. A great taste with citrus hop, grass, pine and light fruity malts. A strong and bitter hop aftertaste.

Kind of fake tasting for an India Pale Ale. The 7.5% alcohol content tips the scale towards the positive.

This is a beautiful ipa in all forms! Awesome golden pour w/ a big white head that leaves phenomenal lacing! Aroma is robust w/ hops. Taste is crazy smooth while providing the ipa bitterness. This is an ipa to remember!

Aroma of pines, fruits, fllowers and spice. Flavour is citric and herbal. Quite flowery and a bit soapy. Full bodied. Very dry. Has a mighty bitterness in the end. Very good and balanced brew.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2014 Draft. Nice IPA. Pour a cloudy golden with decent head that sticks around. Not too bitter. Citrus. Good.

-- rated with beerbasher/winphone Update (7/19/14 was 3.5): From bottle this time. Someone else described it as soapy and that is a pretty good description.

Orange-gold pour, short white head. Great full aroma with notes of orange and bready malt. Fresh floral/citrus flavor, especially grapefruit.

Draft. Pours clear gold with decent frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma is misc. citrus, hay. Taste is muddled hop - some slight bitter, some apple-dry/tart notes, some biscuit notes from the malt. Ultimately, average and not worth a second glass in this round.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours heavily cloudy pale orange with medium white head that laces well. Aroma is light caramel malt that is quickly overtaken by big juicy citrus notes with just a hint of hop spiciness. Taste is nutty full-bodied caramel malt with big citrusy hops. Strongly bitter up front, but fades to a clean balanced finish. Grapefruit, orange, and pine dominate the hops. Really impressive flavor here, but it’s Port, so par for the course.
