COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is a deep golden color and medium bodied, with a soft round malt profile and crisp and spicy hop character on the finish. This lager is brewed in the traditional Pilsner style, using authentic Pilsner malt and noble Saaz hops.

Downright Pilsner gets its carbonation completely naturally as it lagers in our fermentation tanks for six weeks. A unique twist on this beer is the dry hop addition of Saaz hops. This additional infusion of hops gives the beer an extra refreshing bite on the finish.

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a blonde colour with a fair beige head. Aroma of candy sugar, yeast and caramel. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Pours a slightly hazy gold, topped with an inch of firm white foam. Aromas of fresh bread, lemograss and hay abound - very promising start. Taste is classic pilsner malt, grainy, lightly toasty, with a solid hop bite to give perfect pilsner balance. Wonderful drinkability, and definitely a class rendition of the style.

12 ounce bottle. Pours slightly cloudy gold with a nice white head. Aroma of malt, hops, and grass. Taste is similar with a touch of citrus. Well done and spot on.

Pours hazy gold with a tall, long lasting, sticky white head. Spicy hop nose. The flavor is quite subtle, there is a bit of sweetness and some hop dryness in the finish but overall it lacks the clean crisp hp bitterness and supportive malt base I like to find in good Pilsners.

Simple, straight forward, crisp. Downright tasty and true to style, if you ask me

Like everything else from Port City, their Downright Pilsner is super-fresh and completely down-to-earth. One of the qualities I like best about this brewery is that they don’t fuss around with fancy flavors and hipster tweaks on the basic four-ingredient beer bible. Instead, they make super-high-quality, fresh, delicious beer that everybody can enjoy -- without the cutesy trickery that so many other brewers fool around with.

Crisp golden coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall white head. Aroma of fresh malt, light metal, a bit of sugars and a hint of dry grass. Light-bodied; Sharp pungent malt shows some depth with a hint of sweetness, a little yeast and a good dry hay character. Aftertaste shows a touch more sugars, a hint of bitterness from the malt and a little dry finish - nice. Overall, a nice beer, very refreshing with still strong hits of malt. Definitely worth trying if you can find it and it’s hot outside - a respectable beer! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Elisir Restaurant in Washington on 17-August-2012 for US$7.

Draft. Cloudy yellow orange color, white head, nice lacing. Aroma of orange juice. Taste is spiced orange peel. Decent. P
