Tap. Fluffy creamy eggshell head, hazy burnt sunset orange. Musty grapefruit hops, leafy, and light fruit aromas. Flavor is decently bitter with citrus burn and then leans toward a lighter fruit hop profile with some grassiness in the finish. Medium soft velvety body.

On tap at Lost Dog Cafe in Alexandria, VA. Hazy, amber-orange with a small off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, pine and caramel. Taste of pine, citrus, sweet caramel, tropical fruit, peaches and pineapple. Mouthfeel full body and medium/high carbonization with nice mouthfeel. A fairly sweet fruity DIPA with enough bittering hops for balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 17, 2015 Poured from tap at Port City - pours lovely dark golden honey in color with white foam head that clings nicely to the glass. Wonderful example of a double IPA with nicely balanced flavors and nose of pine, citrus and malts.

on tap at Moor Pat, Williamsville, NY. golden pour, citrusy notes, citrusy hops, light malts. Far from an agressive hop bomb, nice & drinkable DIPA

4 oz pour on draft at Rustico Alexandria. Very slightly hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, floral notes. Tastes of tropical fruit, grapefruit citrus, stone fruit, floral notes, booze, hop oils. Medium body with a dry finish. Fantastic, probably my favorite double IPA out of VA.

Good for an Imperial IPA. The sweetness in an imperial tends to override the hop flavor. For IPA-heads the hop is everything. Some craft breweries can achieve the high alcohlol level of an imperial without completely drowning out the hops. Maniacal is not there but it lets a little hop flavor through. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
