COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Monumental IPA is a rich copper color, and is intensely hoppy. We add a special blend of American hops throughout the brewing and fermentation process to create a complex combination of aroma and flavor. This ale exhibits floral notes, flavors of citrus and resin, combined with delicious caramel background notes. The balanced style will keep the palate fresh and invite the drinker back into the glass.

(US 2012 backlogged in abstinentia) Draft pint @Flying Fish Restaurant, Alexandria VA 11/09/2012. Light-bodied sweetish amber ale speckled with some extra hops with a lemon tea granulate feel to them. Tired finish. Not an ideal fish accompanier.

Orange-yellow, not much aroma (though its a bad glass for aroma). Dry grapefruit with a faint orange finish behind the hops. Not bad.

12 oz. Clear orange-copper with a lasting disc of foam. Nose is corn, caramel and menthol. Flavor is orange caramel, toasted corn, hard mint cough drop and earthy leaf. Light-medium body seems like it might appear to have some balance if you did a keg stand and has low-medium carbonation. I may go back to this one in a drunken stupor where I couldn’t recall having it previously. This is a pretty awful IPA by either British or NAFTA standards. As of 4/11/2014 I am unable to finish it, but may let it sour for a week and re-rate.

Draught from Buffalo Wild Wings. Dayum. Cloudy yellow orange. A bit overly hopped with resin grapefruit to be grear.

Leighton (9878) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2014
Draft at GBBF 2013, Day 3 - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a creamy, off-white head. The nose holds citrus, spicy pine and light bubblegum. Medium sweet flavor with bready malts, moderate herbal hops, pine, orange. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some grassy bitterness in the finale with bready sweetness, pine and dried orange. OK.

A decent IPA that has a more robust and heavy feel rather than a floral or fruity accent.

12/29/2013. From bottle. Amber color with a white head. Malty aromas with caramel, citrus and floral notes. Buttery caramel flavors, but with a bitter, hoppy finish.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2014 This is a solid IPA. Unfortunately, with so many other amazing IPA’s out there, this one just doesn’t have anything special to offer. The aroma, citrus taste, and orange appearance are all standard. It’s nice but "Monumental" is hyperbolic.

Six pack from my sister. Bottle one pours hazy copper, medium off white head reduces to a cap. Orange nose. Moderate bitterness, finish is light citrus. Body is watery, makes for an easy drinker.

Bottle into shaker. Very cloudy copper color. Aroma is malty caramel, floral and honey hops. Taste is malty up front, spicy in the middle and long bitter finish. Medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, long finish. Great example of a micro IPA.
