Solid IPA for those who like a less bitter, hoppy IPA. Has a nice floral/herby thing going on that makes it quite different from the very hoppy IPA’s like Victory’s Hop Wallop and Hop Devil. I think this is perhaps Port City’s best to date.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at GABF 2015. From my tasting notes. In the sample glass was sort of a copper color with a nice white foam cap. Nose of citrus and pine hops and some floral aromas. Medium body. Resinous mouth feel The flavor here is complex and seem more line an English IPA than West Coast IPA we get some much of these days. Lots of citrus and pine in the taste and this continues into a long bitter dry finish. This was really exceptional. Wish we saw more English IPAs.

Bottle. Even though this is dated as a month old bottle it still comes across as faded. Cloudy copper orange brown. Bitter toffee, sweet malt and fruitiness in the aroma. Flavor is bitter, metallic, faded citrus hops, dull, and lifeless body. I don’t get how they make a very solid DIPA, and this is so bad.

Bottle on 11/24/15. Pours a hazy light copper. Nose is sweet syrup. Some hops. Smells like Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. Taste is like a weak version of Bigfoot, littlefoot. Sweet, some hops, some fruit, caramel. beer but not great for an ipa.
