3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Solid IPA for those who like a less bitter, hoppy IPA. Has a nice floral/herby thing going on that makes it quite different from the very hoppy IPA’s like Victory’s Hop Wallop and Hop Devil. I think this is perhaps Port City’s best to date.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from GBBF 2016 and drunk at home. Hazy brown amber colour lasting off white head. A little bit sweet and tired hop on the aroma. To be honest it isn’t oxidised, it’s just a malty old style east coast IPA. A malty ipa with some hop and some bitterness on the finish. Decent mouthfeel. Touch of grapefruit on the hops. Smooth toffee. It’s a decent old style east coast ipa but I guess it doesn’t cut the mustard with the new style big hop ipas. OK.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear, bubbly copper with a thick, if not long-lasting, buff head. Aroma offers malty and hoppy notes with a hint of fruit. Hops come forth more in the flavor, resiny and a little woody but scarcely bitter. Fresh malt and pear provide a nice support. Mouthfeel is fairly firm, if fizz leaves a little to be desired. If not monumental, certainly worth a fair shake.
