Monumental IPA is a rich copper color, and is intensely hoppy. We add a special blend of American hops throughout the brewing and fermentation process to create a complex combination of aroma and flavor. This ale exhibits floral notes, flavors of citrus and resin, combined with delicious caramel background notes. The balanced style will keep the palate fresh and invite the drinker back into the glass.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2015 On tap at Osteria Morini, Navy Yard in DC. Appearance is a hazed brown-orange. Aroma of hops and bitterness. Similar flavor but add toffee and a little spiciness to it. Strong tobacco-like notes. Smooth and crisp and doughy. Good beer.

Too malty. There is some bitterness but the hops are dominated by the malt flavor. I believe the hop should dominate in an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Nice IPA, more earthy and bready than many. Maybe a bit more sweet than I like but still decent balance and very drinkable. I like that it’s got several things in play, floral notes, citrus notes, and pine resin.

Pours an amber like color with no head. Aroma of dough, soap, lemon, and sweet malts. Taste follows the nose and was kind of like lemon dawn with caramel and bread. Sometimes I don;t mind the soapy taste in beers I’ve had but this wasn’t that great. Good for a VA tick though! Maybe it was old, but I didn’t get hardly any of the "intensely hoppy" characters from the description. Not the worst beer, but not great either.
