3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Growler shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
The beer appears a cloudy, straw yellow hue with a thick, dense white head. The head displays noticeable staying power, gradually fading to about a quarter inch and leaving some decent lacing on the glass.
The aroma seems a bit out of character for a witbier. It smells much more like a hefeweizen, with a prominent scent of banana and clove.
The taste is decent, but with much more banana than I would prefer from a witbier. Also, the spices, especially coriander, are muted and could be brought out more. The beer is slightly grainy / bready, with a slightly low carbonation level.
I’d be interested to try this again, as I was a bit underwhelmed this first time around, especially based on the initial reviews from a few friends.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This traditionally styled wit beer hits all the right notes. Pours cloudy straw with a small white head. Lots of orangey citrus in the nose. Medium bodied, and full flavored with nice cracked wheat backbone. Finishes clean with a light airy fruitiness.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with average, fizzy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is spice and herbs, bread malt, grassy hops, light citrus, and some yeast. Flavor is sweet malt forward with faint hops and light fruit esters; herb undertones throughout with a dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and low warmth.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at McClellan- Washington. Pours a very dense pale straw color with a yellowish hue. Fine bubble white head and lace. Mild corriander aroma. Medium body with moderately effervescent mouthfeel. Not over carbonated. Impressive blend of light spices complement the mellow wheat flavor. Refreshing and not filling.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a small head. A few citrus notes, and some interesting spices to it. Very easy on the palate and makes for a pleasant drink.

Poured a hazy orange/yellow color with a white head. Aroma has lots of spices with pepper. Lemons and oranges in the aroma too. Taste is fruity and flavorful. Slightly tart with oranges. Aftertaste is a bit peppery with cloves and other spices. Overall a solid wit.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice aroma of spice (coriander) and citrus. The first sip has some spice and a nice Belgian wit flavor, but then becomes soapy and unbalanced. Not bad, but not good for this style.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap at Iron Horse. Very cloudy light orange pour with minuscule white head formation. Little lace. Fresher peach ice cream nose. Some peaches and cream character taken over by vanilla scented candle. Taste is soapy, buttery, blander with some soap cutting mild sweet butter and mild diacetyl. Big spice adjunct hides basic brewing flaws. Palate is thickish for style from the butter. Eh.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Hazy orange-tan. Thin, fading head. Zesty orange-wheat aroma, even after some months in my closet. Really nails the style, yeasty and medium bodied. Refreshing, balanced, really well executed. The orange and spices are there, but they don’t overwhelm...i usually like the more yeast forward vanilla tones...this doesn’t really display that, but has the perfect mouthfeel for the style. Pretty solid, just shy of world class.
