Our robust Porter shows bittersweet flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. It has very complex malt character enhanced by yeast fruitiness.

Bottle, 12oz. A very dark brown beer, almost clear it seems, and with a small beige head on top. The aorma is quite coffee-dominated, but thereís also a good dash of cocoa powder. Some roasted malts and coffee-grit hints too. Itís medium bodied, semi-sweet and softly carbonated, with roasted malts, cocoa, coffee and some dark chocolate. Lasting roasted finish. A bit harsh this one, too much coffee grit, but itís far from bad. 150619

Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted, chocolate, coffee, cocoa and caramel finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours a deep dark brown color with a sweet nut chocolate aroma. Taste is similar, with a mild coffee, and a sweet malt flavor. A little nut and roast aftertaste. A very enjoyable porter!

from non existent notes One of my favorite porters, a beer I enjoy very much, from my favorite local brewery.

A mild coffee porter that is pretty average all around. The pour is deep brown w/ a thin tan head that leaves little lacing. The aroma has some soft coffee notes. The flavor is also light on the coffee but has s decent bitterness about it. This beer goes down easy at 7+% so it does have that going for it! Not bad.

Aroma is chocolaty, toasty, smells great. Appearance is dark black with medium Tan head. White globules of sediment hover and make it look sloppy. Taste is smooth coffee and chocolate. Toasted barley. Raisin and fig late. A nice porter.

Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly lasting light brown head. Moderate - to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light roasted malt - faint burnt malt, some coffee and (artificial like) chocolate. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and faint roasted malt, some coffee. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and faint roasted malt and some coffee - light (artificial like) chocolate, faint hoppyness. Too sweet and too much coffee for me - could use more roastiness. For those with sweet tooth.

Bottle. Pours dark brown thin tan head. Mild aroma of dark chocolate, not picking up much else. Medium chocolate sweetness taste. Picking up more roastiness in the flavor. Medium-heavy body, smooth silky texture, balanced nicely with mild hop presence and hint of fruit. Overall a good porter.

Tasted on tap in a mini Willybecher glass at the 2015 Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival. It poured opaque brown, reddish at the edges, with persistent beige foam and lace. Loads of malt complexity: bready, toasty, roasty, great fruitiness and tartness of black malt, hints of dark coffee and dark chocolate, even some cool smoked traits. Good English-style hop balance: earthy, woodsy, subtle peppery spice. Medium body and carbonation with big round mouthfeel but still finished relatively dry, considering all thatís going on. Very well-crafted and tasty, tied with Right Proper Ornette for my festival favourite.
