Aroma is chocolaty, toasty, smells great.
Appearance is dark black with medium Tan head. White globules of sediment hover and make it look sloppy.
Taste is smooth coffee and chocolate. Toasted barley. Raisin and fig late.
A nice porter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly lasting light brown head. Moderate - to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light roasted malt - faint burnt malt, some coffee and (artificial like) chocolate. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and faint roasted malt, some coffee. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and faint roasted malt and some coffee - light (artificial like) chocolate, faint hoppyness. Too sweet and too much coffee for me - could use more roastiness. For those with sweet tooth.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown thin tan head. Mild aroma of dark chocolate, not picking up much else. Medium chocolate sweetness taste. Picking up more roastiness in the flavor. Medium-heavy body, smooth silky texture, balanced nicely with mild hop presence and hint of fruit. Overall a good porter.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted on tap in a mini Willybecher glass at the 2015 Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival. It poured opaque brown, reddish at the edges, with persistent beige foam and lace. Loads of malt complexity: bready, toasty, roasty, great fruitiness and tartness of black malt, hints of dark coffee and dark chocolate, even some cool smoked traits. Good English-style hop balance: earthy, woodsy, subtle peppery spice. Medium body and carbonation with big round mouthfeel but still finished relatively dry, considering all that’s going on. Very well-crafted and tasty, tied with Right Proper Ornette for my festival favourite.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz to tulip. Poured near black, nice light tan head disappeared quickly leaving lots of lacing. Aroma is dull, light malts. Taste is lightly sweet and fairly smooth. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Average to soft carbonation. Nice, ever so slightly bitter, but smooth finish. Over all it is good. It is pretty much what a solid porter should be. Cant complain much. It is a porter, nothing to rave about. It is what it claims to be. Well done. Enjoyed. Would drink again.

Bottle. Pours a nice dark brown with beige head. Great aroma with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, earthy hops, and some dark fruit. Flavor matches the nose with mostly roast and light bitterness; dry, lightly bitter finish. The alcohol is hidden well. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at Tortoise & Hare in Arlington. Pours dark brown with a light tan head and superb lacing. Solid roasted malt character with some nuttiness. Smooth and creamy that coats the palate with just a hint of bite.
