4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I have this on tap at the brewery every week. Itís hard to believe that no adjuncts are used in crafting this full-bodied, smooth, coffee forward Porter. Delicious and a must-have in the Northern Virginia/DC area.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a snifter.
3.5 A: Black color. One finger of frothy tan head. Retention is below average, but a short ring of lacing is left nonetheless.
4.5 S: Wow is this powerful. Unyieldingly grainy with equally potent chocolate. Toasty after that. Mild roastiness. Coffee with cream. I love the nose on this. Itís both bold and well integrated.
4.5 T: Taste is just as impressive. Again a HUGE graininess. This is certainly the grainiest porter Iíve ever had and I love it. Lots of chocolate with coffee with cream underneath. Again just a mild roastiness, but it works so well. Sweet, hearty neutral maltiness. Just so good. Love this.
5.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Both creamy and silky smooth. Awesome here.
5.0 D: This is one of those beers that you need to buy lots of random beers to find a hidden gem. This is a hidden gem. I could drink this all damn night. I think SteveFinny sent me this, which means Iím even more indebted to him than I already am. This is a killer beer. Get it, drink it, love it.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with a short light head. Cocoa and coffee aromas. Taste is bitter but there is a subtle sweetness that comes through after that initial bitterness. Finishes dry with a coffeeish aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a dark and super thick. This has lots of roasted and smokey notes to it that make it a great drink. Itís heavy and not something for a hot day.

4.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
smooth, somewhat creamy and substantial mouthfeel that is exactly what makes a great porter. sense of caramel and dark cocoa with a malt and hop infusion evenly and exactly layered. just a bit of vanilla rum and that broth like hint that says beer or rather porter. this is my idea of a great porter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: very dark brown with caramel highlights; rich froth of beige head and average lacing. Aroma: bitter dark and sweet milk chocolate, caramel, roast, vanilla, and coffee. Taste: cocoa powder, coffee, light chalk, wood, brown bread, roasty malts, barest hints of dark fruits and molasses. Finish: dry, slightly bitter, with lingering chocolatey roast flavors. Notes: Darn near a perfect porter, in my opinion. Palate and flavors were perfectly balanced between the rich dark malts and a lively and dry counterpoint. Exactly what a porter should be. Based on this, I will seek out other brews from this company.
