3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
3/28/13. Sampled during CBC 2013. Orange amber pour with a small khaki head. Caramel, toasted bread, nuttiness, and a touch of an herbal aspect. Not bad.

Thanks to Marko. Pretty average stuff - fresh grain flavor - didnít really taste like a scots ale to me.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours clear orange amber with a small beige head that diminishes quickly and leaves some lacing. Aroma is caramel, malt, grass, and a touch of metal. Flavor is the same, plus toffee, perhaps anise, medium sweet and lightly bitter, with a nutty ranging to metallic finish. Medium body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: clear medium chestnut brown, with a short beige head. Aroma: malty and sweet, with caramel, toasted nuts, some molasses and a hint of cardboard. Taste: as the aroma indicates. Finish: lingering, slightly chewy, with malty sweet notes lasting a while. Notes: Pretty typical scotch ale; a bit of a malt bomb, which I like. NoVA Brewfest 2013.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a very hazy darker brown color with a tiny off-white head. Nose is slightly malty, with a hint of bitterness from the English hops. Taste is a little bitter, but not overly flavorful. Feels very carbonated. Meh.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle pours a hazy, deep garnet amber with some thin, white head. Nose of stale malt, a little cedar, some raisin, slightly oxidized, some plum. Flavor is malty, raisin, orange, cardboard, cracker. Medium, dry finish. Not like any scotch ale Iíve had. A bit too weak.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Chestnut brown ale with plenty of malt flavor but drier, better attenuated than most. A firm bitterness that isnít overdone. More drinkable than most Scottish-style ales.
