A lot of random elements in this. Pours cloudy orange/yellow with decent head and lacing. Nutmeg, ginger and booze in aroma. Finishes sweet. Kind of reminds me of the kind of bad Christmas candies relatives bring you back from holidays in Germany or Austria. Tap at Black Squirrel.

I thought this was a nice winter warmer. Spice was not too much and the honey gave it a good alcohol percentage and warmth.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow orange pour with a thin head. Candy, honey, Asian pear, spice, Japanese nori seaweed. Syrupy and candy initial feel in the mouth. Medium body with well balanced carbonation. A bit too sweet for me

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy orange with a small, fizzy and bubbly white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is Belgian candi sugar, pear and apple esters. peppery alcohol, citrus hops, sweet Pils malt and coriander notes. Flavor is spice forward with dry malt, peppery and spicy, dry alcohol, fruity esters, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Full body and moderate carbonation.

lamas (1355) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 30, 2012
Bottle. A hazy old gold/straw pour with a smallish beige head. A pleasant aroma of honey, allspice, candi sugar, caramel, Golden Delicious apples, pineapples, Mandarin oranges, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. Relatively medium-bodied and fairly sticky/syrupy on the way down. The taste starts with lots of honey, candi sugar, Golden Delicious apples, and some bananas. Oranges and an abundance of zesty citrus rinds at the end. Plenty of allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves the whole way through. There is a fair amount of warming alcohol that only adds to the depth of this beer. Quite enjoyable and very underrated.

Draft at DoG Street Pub. "That looks like pineapple juice," says my mother-in-law. Yep, sure does. Opaque, musty yellow, little to no head. The aroma hints at a sweet, herbal concoction. Sure enough, this drinks like a spiced saison, sweet and fruity, with a definitive "Belgo" herbal factor. OK. Bit too sweet for the billing. (#4868, 12/24/2012)

Smells like breakfast cereal from a foot away, Corn Pops and Golden Smacks mostly, honey, cinnamon, buttered popcorn, pineapple, candy sugar. Flavor is sweet, Lots of candy sugar, caramel popcorn, coriander, ginger, booze. Full, sticky, hot finish.

Cloudy yeasty pour. Coriander aroma bleeding into Rosemary. Sweet honey taste. Cit4rus. Too much going on here to be good

Bottle. Cloudy light yellow, incredibly st range taste of spices and fruit. It would have been a drain pour but thankfully I only had a sample.

Bottle gifted by Thorpe429. Merry Christmas buddy! The beer is golden yellow with just a slight haziness. The head is quite thin at the onset, fading to nothing within a minute or so. The aroma brings an abundant serving of honey, followed by Christmas spices, a touch of coriander, lemons, sweet malt, hard candies. The flavor Is sweet, with spices and a lasting honey flavor. I can already tell that one pint will be more than sufficient. Lingering notes of honey cough drops. Lacking a sufficient malt bill to support the honey and spice components, which should be subtle compliments to a tasty base beer, rather than overrun the beer in a cloying fashion. The feel is thin with low carbonation. Too sweet and somewhat out of balance. Overall, fun to try but not something I could recommend. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-25-2011
