COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As our anniversary falls in the middle of winter, the darkest, coldest days in the Mid Atlantic, we have brewed a strong, dark ale to warm us against the cold. Our Second Anniversary Ale is a very limited Smoked Imperial Porter, called TWO. This Porter is a stronger, smoked version of our flagship Porter. It is dark brown, almost black in color, and has a smoky, roasted aroma and smooth, rich, complex smoke and chocolate flavors. Our Brewers and the Tasting Room crew teamed up to mill in by hand 5000 pounds of German beech wood smoked malt and 600 pounds of roasted malt. This was all done bag by bag over the course of an afternoon, truly a labor of love! Enjoy TWO with smoked meats and cheeses in front of a fire.

Growler. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is smoked meat, wood, ash, roast malt, prunes, figs, and earthy hops. Flavor is dark and smoke malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, dark fruity esters and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

5-6 oz draft pour at Adroit Theory, leftover keg from their Best Of Festival the day before. Black with tan head with some brown hues. Aromas of light smoke, caramel, dark chocolate. Tastes of medium to light smoke, caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, light booze, syrup. Medium body with a dry and syrupy finish. Low carbonation. Aging pretty well, the smoke and meat/bacon-like notes I remember from having this fresh have faded quite a bit bringing out some of the sweetness. Would love to see them re-brew this to compare side by side with the original batch.

Tap pour. Near black. Large smoked nose. Hidden porter notes. Smoke dominates flavor too. Some fruit cake. A tad harsh on the palate

At proletariat with my dad. Aroma is dirty smoke. Taste is huge smoky notes up front, that smooth out into a malty roasted malt bite, finishes with light smoke and some chocolate. Way too smoky gross. I don’t understand this style. Are there really people out there that love smoked beers?

Poured into snifter at brewery a very dark brown almost black. Light head with limited carbonation. Aroma is a nice level of smoke, dark chocolate, and roster malts. Taste was smoke, dark chocolate and roasted malts esp in the finish. Alcohol is warming. I really enjoyed this one.

On tap at brewery. Very dark color. Smokey, roasted aroma. Hits the palette at tip of the tongue and back of the roof of your mouth. Minimal carbonation.

Draft: Noticeably woodless smoke and charcoal. Black, medium tan head. Sweet smoked malt. Smokiness is good, but a tad cloying.
