COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Huron Hefeweizen is brewed in the tradition of German Wheat beers. The classic aromas and favors of banana and cloves, with the effervescent bubbliness of this al-too-easy-to-drink traditional wheat beer.

My preferred style so take rating eith a known bias. Bubbly and crisp. Thick lasting head (cold from bottle). Foggy and darker appearance. Slight banana and not much clove which is why I docked the taste but probably should have let it warm a bit. Not much aroma to speak of. I would try again warmed but a lot of other proven hefes out there.

Draft. Orange, banana, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange, banana, clove, and creamy wheat malt flavor. Light body. Very nice but a bit light.

[Bottle] Pours a hazy golden color with a soapy head left on top. Banana, clove, bubblegum and some perfume in the aroma. Flavors of clove, cereal grains, banana bread, lighter vanilla and citrus. Lighter in body. Not bad. Tasting notes from 8/2014.

On tap at Kalahari Resort, pours a hazy gold with a bubbly white head and some lacing, looks nice, aroma has hints of banana and clove, a little subtle though, flavor has a nice spice front end with a smooth finish, just misses on the wow factor, actually a pretty well made beer though.

Murky cara-amber with a one finger white vertex. Aroma of banana, yeast, grains, clove, wheat and German malts. Taste is a bit too grainy with banana bread, German malts, lemon, light caramel and some faint black pepper. Yeasty finish.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange pour with a white ring head. Citrus zest and clove aroma - albeit mild on the clove. Almost a sour citrus. Maybe a bit of ripe banana. This is also a bit overcarbonated. Not bad, but kind of a curious take on the style.

12oz bottle thanks to nuplastikk: pours a hazy deep golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet malted wheat nose with a touch of peppery clove. Starts with pretty good fullness and light sweetness with mild yeasty esters and hop bitterness with some black pepper in the finish. Could use more yeasty character and banana notes to be more true to style.
