COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Port Huron Hefeweizen is brewed in the tradition of German Wheat beers. The classic aromas and favors of banana and cloves, with the effervescent bubbliness of this al-too-easy-to-drink traditional wheat beer.

On tap at Kalahari Resort, pours a hazy gold with a bubbly white head and some lacing, looks nice, aroma has hints of banana and clove, a little subtle though, flavor has a nice spice front end with a smooth finish, just misses on the wow factor, actually a pretty well made beer though.

Murky cara-amber with a one finger white vertex. Aroma of banana, yeast, grains, clove, wheat and German malts. Taste is a bit too grainy with banana bread, German malts, lemon, light caramel and some faint black pepper. Yeasty finish.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange pour with a white ring head. Citrus zest and clove aroma - albeit mild on the clove. Almost a sour citrus. Maybe a bit of ripe banana. This is also a bit overcarbonated. Not bad, but kind of a curious take on the style.

12oz bottle thanks to nuplastikk: pours a hazy deep golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet malted wheat nose with a touch of peppery clove. Starts with pretty good fullness and light sweetness with mild yeasty esters and hop bitterness with some black pepper in the finish. Could use more yeasty character and banana notes to be more true to style.

Sampled during the Great Taste of Midwest 2012 and at the brewery taproom in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber colored brewer with an average sized creamy off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a thick white ring. Aroma of banana and fruity esters, a hint of clove, golden multi-grains and a hint of floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, banana esters, a hint of cotton candy, some light tropical fruit and floral hops. Finish is semi-sweet with a balance of golden grain malt and banana yeast aftertaste. Touch more towards the banana yeast flavor than clove.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2012 12oz bottle. Says unfiltered, but sure looks like it is. Orange-tan, thin unimpressive off-white head. Sweet orange-clove aroma. Doesn’t really have that banana tone. Way more orange flavor and earthy malt..so in that way it fails to successfully capture the style. Somewhere between an American Wheat and a German Hefeweizen, leaning towards American Wheat. Decent enough, but certainly not a World Class example.
