Growler courtesy of blipp at James’ place for a tasting. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Big sticky malt, toast and a bit of caramel. Sweet and malty, not so much malt as caramel sweetness. Lingering sweet caramel with a touch of bitterness. Decent enough.

Growler. Pours orange with an off white head. Light citric hops, some grainy malts and medium sweetness, bread, and a hint of booze. Solid enough.

Capri Sun growler shared by Blipp at tasting at my house. Pours orange. Nose and taste of yeast, bread, caramel and toffee. Body on the lighter side of medium for the style. Finishes with light bitter hop bite.

This was my favorite of a flight of beers I had, mostly because of the sweet malty flavor, with notes of caramel and fruit. Very tasty.

The aroma is fruity, bread. The appearance is slightly hazy amber, off-white head. The flavors a bit weak, fruit, caramel. The finsh is pine hop bittering. Medium in body. Certainly thin for a barley wine. In fact, the aroma and flavor are ok, except that they are a bit weak. The aroma and flavor isn’t off, just weak. OK.

Growler. Interesting that this is a barley wine. I was trying to guess the style while I was drinking it and barley wine did not come into my mind. Pours a slightly hazed amber with a thin-moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, caramel, and just a bit of spice. The flavor is malt and caramel with a bit of caraway emerging in the aftertaste. Moderate pine bitterness at the finish. An enjoyable beer with some interesting twists and turns, at least for me.

Tap at PJ tasting room - Light for a barley wine, and therefore tastier, IMO. On the nose is crisp grain and caramel. Body has more caramel with a nice toffee, light roast and burnt notes. Smooth bodied. Alcohol is well hidden. Dry finish with touch of pine. Tasty.
