COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While brewing our Porter, we wanted to keep it as traditional as possible. The final product is something that a shipbuilder would have enjoyed after a long, hard day in the yard. Dark in color, smooth in flavor, and sweetened with local organic honey, this Porter will have you dreaming of fair winds and following seas.

Location: Sampled at TapNY, 4/26/14

Aroma: It has a sweet porter aroma with some chocolate, roast, and a little honey
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown colored head
Flavor: The flavor is clean and sweet, but not overly so, with minimal bitterness
Palate: This one has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this one was a nice, smooth, creamy porter. Maybe it is a little bit too sweet, but overall, I enjoyed it. It certainly has a nice mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours deep brown to black, large creamy brown head, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty malts, ashtray, cardboard. Flavor is light sweet, weird artificial smoke acidic flavor, light bitter, kinda yuk really. Medium body, highly carbonated.

Gusher. Nice aroma of slight roast and ?? Over carbonated and fizzy in taste. If you get past that there is a hint of cocoa and roast and a couple of other things I can’t place but shouldn’t be in a porter. Slight sweetness. Different porter

Beerenberger (1364) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Roasted malts and honey with some herble notes on the nose. A brownish black pour with a single finger, rapidly dissipating, tan head and negligible lacing. The taste is slightly sweet. The flavor while interesting, is not what I expect from a porter. Pitted fruit, honey, cough drops, with a pleasingly bitter finish. Medium-light body and fizzy carbonation. Fizzy mouthfeel. Overall, while a very drinkable beer, it is not what I think of or expect when it comes to a porter.

notalush (4763) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Tap at the brewery - a very solid robust porter - chewy body - a nice balance of sweetness, roast, and moderate bitterness/acidity from the darker malts - hints of plum/blueberry - kind of leafy/earthy/mushroomy late - lingering, roasty finish - really solid.

Poured into 24oz mug dark brown with a 12 inch head, seriously, 12 inch beige head. Smells of acne medicine. Taste is a little roasted chocolate and coffee and that acne medicine again. Over carbonated, bland, and not a good porter.

22 ounce bottle pours a black color with aromas of earth, light coffee, and a touch of light roast. Flavors are the same, light on the palate overall, decent porter, would drink again.
