Port Jefferson is known for its Ferry service to and from Bridgeport CT. This insanely hopped brew starts with mash hops, ultra generous additions in the boil, and finishes with a healthy dry hop. We’re sure after a couple of pints the Helmsman wouldn’t execute the smooth landing you’re used to. Pick the dock in the middle!!!!

Draft at Alewife. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of citrus, aspirin, malt, resin, dark sap and grapefruit. Very dry finish. Very perfumy.

On tap at ACBF 6/1/2013 Huge citrus and pine aroma and flavor with hints of spice and bready malt. Feels like an old school IPA, very nice.

From a (very flat) growler. Aroma- gentle smoke and grass hops with floral background. Medium clear amber with light cream head. Starts fruity lemon going into bitter with bitter aftertaste. NEED TO RE-EVALUATE

Cask. Cloudy. Hoppy and syrupy. Not as boozy as I expected. Good but not my favorite ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Alewife: Hazy golden with an off white lacing film. Unique aroma- very floral and herbal with an earthy smoky touch. Velvety body with a rich yet balanced flavor. Herbal, floral, bitter and rich with a touch of smoke. Less smoky in the flavor. Very herbal and unique. Long bitter finish. Interesting.

Growler filled at Ronkonkoma Beverage. Pours a hazy golden amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Weak aroma of grassy hops and sweet malt. The flavor is very malt driven with sweet malt and mild bread along with a bit of resin. Surprisingly mild hops bitterness at the finish. Some mild alcohol warmth towards the finish as well. If I were rating to style, this would likely grade lower. This does not drink like and IPA or IIPA.

Pours a hazy pale orange with no lacing. Heavy smoke and medicinal notes. Mild hop notes covered by a slightly medicinal flavor. Barely bitter.

Tap at PJ tasting room - this one was a bit forgettable. Sweet caramel body with some bready malts, without much hops on the nose. But you get it in the body as some dry, grassy notes and some florals. Dry finish with some pine at the end.
