3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle. From trade. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep caramel color, with a thin, sticky head. Aromas are of roasted malts, some coffee bean, piney hops.
Flavors are somewhat strong & pronounced. Coffee bean, roasted malts, alcohol bite mix the flavors up somewhat. Medium mouthfeel, slick and oily. Decent enough beer, but nothing I’d seek out again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle, from trade with 5000. Good aroma, sweet. Brady, plum, raisin, wet leather. Muddled orangy brown color, little to no head or lace. Sweet flavor. Very sweet at times. Coffee undertones, has a bitter streak, but not dominant flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel. bitter sweet finish. Kind of liked it,, though this one was a slow drunk beer. I dunno at times I was turned off by the aroma. So it’s a mixed feeling with this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Courtesy Old_Mr_Crow. Pours a cloudy caramel brown, with a small off white head. Big bread, cracker jacks, cookies, caramel malt, and vanilla stood out. I liked the nose. The flavor is huge sweet malt, maybe a bit too much. Big grape, apple, and other sweeter fruits stood out as well. Tastes like a barley wine although a pretty sweet one. Fairly standard.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Murky, caramel-colored ale with no head. The breadsy, malty nose offers notes of sugar cookie and caramel; simple, but elegant. Full-bodied and creamy with lively carbonation. Sweet and caramelly. Bittered just enough to prevent cloying. The high ABV is very well hidden. Bittersweet, caramel finish. Bottle courtesy of mgumby10!

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle courtesy of mgumby (I think).
Definitely the best smelling barley wine I’ve come across. Aroma is a bit like whiskey soaked caramels. A bit of chocolate and a small touch of citrus that must be from the hops. Pours a dark amber with a reddish hue. Handsome looking beer. Taste has a bit of alcohol and bitter hops up front with a really awesome long caramel malt finish. Very tasty and quite drinkable considering the ABV. A quality barley wine.
