Murky brown pour, really nice tan head and some lace. A nice looking beer. Nose is full of problems. Butter, a little buggy, there is rye and some floral hops. But this is a mess. A little tart, buttery, buggy, vegetal. So many problems in this that it almost tastes like they meant it to be this way. There is rye, that’s cool, and there is a good deal of bitterness.this beer has problems.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Deep amber, fairly dark, moderate to large foamy off-white head, so-so lacing.   Meaty nose, biscuity, some caramel notes.   Faint hop aspects, otherwise this feels like an American Strong Ale.   Rather malty on the tongue, sweet, minor citusy aspects, caramel notes, with very subtle Rye.   This is rather tasty.   Good balance of sweetness and bitterness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Lingering bitterness at the finish, but a nice sweet caramel malt base.   Good stuff! 7/3/7/3/14

Draft at Brouwer’s. Pours hazy medium orange-ish. Thin but moussy off-white head. Bready, lightly sweet-fruity nose. Not much rye sourness happening here. Medium body, carb is tangible, almost firm, but not intrusive. Nice sour bready rye blasts right off the attack and carries through the mid-palate and the finish. Finishes clean with some lightly peppery hop. Tasty stuff. I’ll definitely seek this out again.

Cloudy light amber colour. Quite a bit of tropical fruit aroma. Very sweet, floral, also quite spicy. Rye shows in the tannic finish.
