Enniskillen (1532), Port Angeles, Washington, USA Jul 20, 2008 Black with a thin cream head. Aroma is heavy coffee and chocolate, caramel, and cream. Taste is mocha, coffee, an interesting faint lemon, but doesn’t seem like an infection...? Retorp (2148), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 Courtesy of Acertain. Thank you Andrew. Nice concentrated cocoa, chocolate and coffee aroma. Black with dark ruby hints and a firm tan head. Big flavor concentration. Roast coffee, chocolate, stewed dark fruits. Toasty and roasty in the finish. Nice beer. ChainGangGuy (1457), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 9, 2008 Appearance: Pours an opaque, very dark brown body with a wispy, off-white head.
Smell: Dry, dust-covered dark maltiness with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts.
Taste: Dark malts, lightly sweet, and a taste of chocolate fall out in favor of questionable tart, lactic sourness. The aroma was alright and the taste started out decent, but boy did it ever nosedive into the ground. Bummer.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Gah! And I thought I was spoiled... Shag (1750), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA May 31, 2008 A murky brown to black appearance. The aroma is chocolate, lemon scented soap, and coffee. Uh oh not looking good. The flavor is very sour with a huge does of lemons and chocolate as well. Overall this beer was really odd but not in a good way. decaturstevo (1134), decatur, Tennessee, USA May 27, 2008 A bit of a funky sour aroma. Thin cloudy brown pour with off white haeed and lace. It looked like a bw of sorts. Very bitter I could not drink it the very first beer I’ve ever spit back into my glass. Palate was fizzy and bad. Not much at all. This beer has one sick puppy it needed antibiotics bad.
