deep copper to almost red. Small white head with really nice lacing. Aroma is not really noticable but nicely sweet. lightly chewy with lots of deep malts, a little nutty. Sweet finish with light hop bite. Not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2008 My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of ’Summer Secret Santa 2008’. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with some bubbles and a large lasting foamy off-white head. Nice spicy malty aroma along with some sweetness and citrus fruit. Flavour’s not as good (it may be a touch past it’s due date but it’s hard to tell as there’s no date anywhere on the bottle), there’s a touch of sourness to it along with citrus fruit, bready malt and spices. Average bodied. Not bad, I thought it was O.K. -- I’d love to try a fresh bottle though.

Bottle from Bottleworks. Light fruity aroma. Pours hazy with a little head. Hops and a slight sour flavor. Mild tingle on the tongue after the long finish.

Bottled. Cloudy reddish amber. Appley nose with some of citric hops. Plenty of warming caramel malt, still the mouthfeel is somewhat hard. Lingering bitter finish. Solid but unspectacular.

Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel - courtesy of blankboy. Copper-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of resiny hops, spice, caramel, orange zest, grapefruit - nice! Medium bodied. Flavour is quite sharp, with notes of sour citrus and grapefruit pith overpowering what seem to be some nice toffee & dark sugar notes from the malt. Seems a bit off-kilter to me - as blankboy notes, it could’ve been an old bottle.

Amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma was caramel malts and hops. Flavour was quite hoppy and sweet and finishes quite bitter.

Bomber. Pours a coppery amber color with a small amount of sudsy off-white head. In the nose, there’s hints of brown sugar, raisins, figs and cinnamon bread. The flavor starts out with lots of caramel, toffee, butterscotch and dried apricot notes supported by a toasted malt backbone. Just a tiny bit of a sweet citrus hops presence in the background. The body is adequately carbonated with a dry, sugary finish. In the end, it’s a little too sweet and one-dimensional.

Majestic mahogoany body w. a full head and spicy aroma. The flavor was a dull blend of malts w. a mild, but pleasant hop touch. Surprised to see the high alcohol content, was masked well. Overall, standard winter fare.
