Commercial Description:
Our winter ale is made from a blend of pale and crystal malts, roasted barley and Belgian aromatic malts. Cooler fermentation and a longer aging time adds further complexity to this Old Ale style.

Bottle from Bottleworks. Light fruity aroma. Pours hazy with a little head. Hops and a slight sour flavor. Mild tingle on the tongue after the long finish.

[1712-20080917] 22floz bottle. Fruity hops and some light apple skins aroma. Hazy, dark orange brown body with a long-lasting foamy light tan head. Citrus tangerine juice flavour has a mild floral tang finish. Medium body. Mild oldness but no proof of date.
<i>Overheard: "There’s no proof [of the date] except for that chunk at the bottom." "Mmm, chunky."</i>

Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel - courtesy of blankboy. Copper-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of resiny hops, spice, caramel, orange zest, grapefruit - nice! Medium bodied. Flavour is quite sharp, with notes of sour citrus and grapefruit pith overpowering what seem to be some nice toffee & dark sugar notes from the malt. Seems a bit off-kilter to me - as blankboy notes, it could’ve been an old bottle.

Bomber from Safeway, Port Angeles; Nose of caramel and raisin pie with a very light vanilla note; clear amber with a big, glass-lacing beige head; flavor is toasty with brown sugar and a very light smokiness.

My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of ’Summer Secret Santa 2008’. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber with some bubbles and a large lasting foamy off-white head. Nice spicy malty aroma along with some sweetness and citrus fruit. Flavour’s not as good (it may be a touch past it’s due date but it’s hard to tell as there’s no date anywhere on the bottle), there’s a touch of sourness to it along with citrus fruit, bready malt and spices. Average bodied. Not bad, I thought it was O.K. -- I’d love to try a fresh bottle though.
