Dark red coloured and smooth on the palate. Some roast malt and hops in the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at the Griffin, Haslingden (where its brewed). A garnet tinged mild - not the darkest. Chocolate is quite evident on the nose. That carries through onto the palate, where coffee and burnt malt make an appearance too. All quite subtle. The initial impression is slightly sweet but it dries out towards the finish. Overall, a well-tempered, roasty mild at the lighter bodied end of the spectrum. Definitely a true supping mild, not a pseudo-porter or a quasi-stout.
