3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the Cask in Stockport, the place under the railroad. From old notes. A copper-amber color, earthy flavor. Medium hops. Very nice, very drinkable, a bit like a biere de garde with the earthy, roasted amber flavor.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at the Griffin, Haslingden (where its brewed). Alluring bright copper/bronze colour. A best bitter with a distinctly traditional feel. It is markedly malty, but there’s plenty of citric hop presence and a fair whack of bitterness too. This all contributes to a well balanced beer with a clean and composed mouthfeel. Its refreshing too. The aroma’s a bit subdued though. Not a world beater, but solid and assured.
