3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at The Porterhouse Bar Central in Dublin. Comes a clear amber with a decent beige head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and caramel. Taste is sweet malt, dark fruit, and caramel. Did not get much in the way of hops. Decent.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 9E, adapted). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: sweet malty aroma with notes of dried fruits, roasted malt, dried grapes and a slight whiskey barrel and caramelized malt aspect. APPEARANCE: reddish copper color with orange highlights and translucent. medium dark beige head with medium retention. TASTE: initial sweet malty flavour, with some notes of dried fruits and whiskey barrel that evolves into a roasted and highly bitter finish. High bitterness from hops and roasted malt that lasts beyond a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. finish almost astringent. OVERALL: and interesting strong ale with a bit too much roasted flavour.

Beautiful deep red color. The foam is rough and disappears quickly. The smell is great. It is really sour, it has something of sour cream and strawberries. There are also some other red fruits, like berries. The taste is incredible. There is apple and other fruits, really sweet but it also has a beery bitterness. It is a beer like no other.

27.1.2015. Taste has some very strong rye-like malt, not pleasant. Also other malts, ripe fruits.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is brown sugar, a bit of smoke, vanilla, and whiskey. Taste starts out slightly sour, the vanilla and whiskey notes show through, ends with a faint hop bitterness. I like this beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Backlog rating. Keg at Porterhouse London. It pours a deep rich amber color with a nice creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with notes of toffee, dried fruits, bread dough and light yeasty spices. Taste is softly sweet and malty, and medium bitter, grassy and earthy. More notes of toffee, bread dough, grains, grass. Medium to full bodied with creamy texture and good carbonation. Overall, decent strong ale

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours the same color as a good bourbon. Head is thin but persistent. Toasted malts are not complimented by the hops. A soda type character remains dank through the palate. Good body. This beer is okay, just not a top strong ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly aged sample, 9 months after BBDYellowish, small head, hazy brown beer with an orange sheen. Oxydized, nutty, sweet - strange for a 7% ABV beer with really not that much aging. Bitter - hoppy - nutty; faint hints at dark chocolate. Bit wry - like walnut peel. Medium bodied, surprisingly spritzy, nearly overcarbonated. Maybe typical Delirium sample - prematurely aged.
