COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

330ml brown bottle. Dark orange pour, creamy tan foam on top with some sticky lacing. Nose has some sweet notes of caramel and sponge candy and some hops. Taste has toffee malts and a bit of chocolate, citrus hops. Medium bitterness, earth and grass aftertaste. Medium bodied with a mild carbonation. A nice strong ale.

Drought. Reddish amber with beige creamy head, slight hops aroma, well b alanced taste with an alcohol aftertaste, medium finish. The alcohol is a bit too prominent.

On tap at Fraunces Tavern. Something of an Irish attempt at an American DIPA, or an over-the-top boozy bitter. Appearance is promising, with a brilliant copper red color with a thin white head. Nose is odd, a little sour, a little grass, some hops. Taste is strong giggles hops, a little too one note. Would like either more malt backbone or more citrusy/piney variety hops. Not bad at all, but a little disappointing.

Rating #774 - Nov 18, 2013 - Bottle at beer revolution. Dark brown-black pour with a bubbly tan foam that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is floral, oily hops, rich toffee burnt sugar malty sweetness. Lightly carbonated. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium-full bodied, this packs a punch. Strong alcohol character balanced by the gentle bitterness of the more noble hops. Absolutely superb.

Brainblast at its best. Copper colour bitterness just right with a grassy EKG finish. Tested in the best PUB in Dublin.

TAP at Delirium Brussels, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear dark red beer, small unstable off white head. NOSE: little sour, some wood, some fruits, grass. TASTE: watery, flat, not really good, bitter aftertaste, too bitter...

Honestly this falls a bit flat. An awesome name and appearance with a dark murky amber pour and a thick dense yellowish head. The nose is malty and smells rich almost oaky. A mild toffee and caramel malt flavour with a spice hop with Fuggles notes and soft bitterness and a hint of resinous. A mild scotch and toffee style malt flavour.
