3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 miquelcrush (11) - Granollers, SPAIN - APR 8, 2013
Cerveza oscura con espuma persistente y denso. El sabor a las maltas tostadas es muy evidente y se nota también la graduación alcoholica. Muy recomendable
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Idiosynkrasie (1985) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 30, 2013
330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Quite anaemic and expressionless aroma, some bitter hop with good will. Taste is minimally sweet malty, a touch of dry roasty notes, bitter hoppy overtones. Nicely balanced, but somehow weak, strenghtless and softish.

11.2oz bottle from my local Kroger. Clear dark red color. Thin slightly off-white head. Decent spread out lace. Medium-plus body. Moderate, crisp carbonation. Spicy hops. Dark fruit, toasty, nutty malt aroma. Nice spicy bitter taste, light sweet. Pretty hoppy, but in an old hop, metallic sort of way, more malt forward. An alright hoppy western european strong ale.

Polotmavé hodně silné pivo, chuťově o něco míň výrazné než třeba belgické fláky. Ale šlo to, k večerní přípravě prezentace ideální. Lahváč z pivoňky.

2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Creedence (161) - Cork, IRELAND - FEB 17, 2013
Cask at Franciscan Well Winter Ale Festival. Not a whole lot going on on the nose. Pours amber red with a thin lingering white head. Tastes of caramel, with strong off-flavour cabbage, lingering sour/bitterness. I know it’s good as I’ve had it many times before, this seems like a misrepresentative bad cask. Will re-rate.

Keg @ The Porterhouse. The pour’s a deep amber color with a small white head. The nose is red apple skin, some caramel, toasted grain, general woody shrubbery. The taste is more red apple skin, fall fruits. Some syrup. Brown bread toast. A bit of peppery spice. Hot, this drinks like a big beer. Full body, slightly sticky. Overall, not particularly complex or interesting.
