2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pretty strone this, but quite palatable really. Fairly sweet and malty, but enough hops to make it interesting. Quite nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Brown colour. Nice, creamy beige head. First it smells like bakery, then a bit sour milk and at the end sourish and fruity. Strange ... Very nice fruity flavour and ends in a strong bitter finish. (Porterhouse, Dublin, 16.03.07)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Porterhouse, WC2, London. Amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, hoppy, fruit, caramel. Flavor start moderate sweet, and ends moderate sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration. A nice complex beer with a good balance between sweet and bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Porterhouse Central, Dublin. A rich and complex beer this, with all the good stuff from both malt and hops. One of their very best.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Like the Thomas Hardy Ale and the Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild I had earlier this is very malty. The malt here is tempered by a good dosing of hop. Still alcoholic and malty. Hop finish is in fact quite harsh, but doesn’t alleviate the rich malt and alcohol. Coffee/choc/syrupy malt aroma and in mouth with some sweetish berry fruit. Hit of harsh hop on end. Sweet tangerine in there too.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty decent strong ale, although for the most part it was muddled and a bit yeasty. Aroma is mixed with citrus, herbla and floral hops along with some fruity yeasty aromas and a thick caramel malt backbone. Flavor is initially pretty sweet with malts then a slightly harsh hop bitterness in the end. Alcohol comes throuhg as it warmed.
