Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

Rich brown with thick pillowy head. Aroma is alcohol, nutty and caramel malts. Sipping it is definitely malt-heavy - nuts and toffee. Some hop aroma - mostly floral...but basically it’s a malt story. Lingering bitterness. Chewy mouthfeel. Doppelbock-ish with hops.

330 ml bottle and on tap at the porterhouse central. Nice ale but nothing really impressive. I will try it again.

On tap. Deep opaque brown with medium-large beige head. Aroma malty and somewhat roasty and floral hops. Medium body, alcohol not really noticable. There are some roasted malt and caramel flavors but more hoppy than I would have expected and the bitterness is predominant in the finish. Tasty.

On tap at Blokes & Birds. Dark amber color with a few bubbles. Flavor is slightly roasted nuttiness and malts with a fair amount of sweet vanilla. Slightly fruity as well. Not bad but nothing exceptional either.

Poured a rich reddish copper with a thin pale head. Striking malty aroma, sweet with cherry, raisin and a nutty note. Lively on the tongue with a medium sweetness balanced at the end by moderate bitterness. Flavors are not very distinct but it is otherwise an interesting brew.

Dublin-07. Poursed a dark copper colour with very faint head. Nice hoppy aroma, and sweet caramel notes ending with some nice bitter hops. Good beer!

@ Porterhouse, Dublin: Clear dark amber, little long lasting head, notes of caramalt, yeast and dried fruit, a little hops develops in mouth, sweet taste with long bitter finish.
