COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

Poured from an 11.2 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is an amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma is made up of toffee, hops and sweet fruit with a strong alcohol smell. The taste is mostly hops and sweet malt. A really good English Strong Ale.

330ml bottle. Deep copper, almost brown, frothy off white head. Caramel, nuts, cereal, toasted malt and burnt sugar in the nose, with a hint of perfumy hops. Flavour is sweet caramel offset with an understated English hop bitterness. Quite highly carbonated and big bodied. Finish is dusty malt, bittersweet. A nice example of the style.

Clear light brown body and a small dimishing rocky head. Aroma of fruit, alcohol, caramel, pine and spruce. The taste is medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Medium body, thin feel, oily feel, average carbonation, long finish, bitter. To heavy and not well integrated alcohol and a bitter long lasting finish.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with eggshell head that leaves a nice lace. Fairly rich, malty nose with fruit and bread. Rich on the palate as well with a little hop cutting through. Fairly weighty on the palate with a softly bitter finish.

amber ale, not much head. slightly sweet with a good hop content. hides the alcohol well.

Draught @ The Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Amber/copper with an off white head, it’s hard to judge in the dim lighting. Good hoppage, slightly metallic but it’s ice cold so what do you expect. Eventually sweet bready malts emerge as it warms. Flavour sees a nice bitter lick on the back of the tongue with sweet malts rounding it off. I imagine there’s a little more depth to it if you have the patience but unfortunately that’s not my forte.
