COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once "stuffed" savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif... True "Aroma-therapy".

Grain: Pale Malt, Roast Barley, Black Malt, Flaked Barley.
Hops: Galena, Nugget, East Kent Goldings.

Leighton (10774) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2012
Bottle at home in London, on a lovely, fairly sunny afternoon. Pours caramel copper with a moderate to large, foamy off-white head. Lots of toast, light caramel, grainy hops. Medium sweet flavor with a sturdy dose of booze, light caramel, leaves and toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with really bold alcohol character. Somewhat difficult to break through the alcowall (see what I did there? Alcohol+wall=alcowall!) to any other redeeming characteristics; which isn’t to say that booziness is a redeeming characteristic. Anyway, there are also notes of dry earth, toast and faint caramel. Really, though, the beer lacks any kind of complexity. It doesn’t lack alcohol flavor, though. Perhaps with a bit of age the booze might mellow out and the beer mike take on some nuance. At the moment it’s a bit rough.
