2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours in black body with creamy low tan head. Aroma has roasty notes with slight acidic character, light licorice, noble almost earthy notes. Taste has high noble bitterness upfront, with light roasty sweetness, going really into the bitterness. Pine after taste. Body is light, watery, medium carbonation. Nothing special.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330mL bottle from Blackrock Cellar, different label and this is 7.5%abv, so not sure if this should be a new listing? Thick oily black pour into the glass, small tan head that dissipated fairly quickly, nice sticky lacing. Freshly brewed coffee, deep dark chocolate, smoke, juicy dark fruit, some hop resin in the finish. Ultra smooth finish, full velvety mouthfeel, complex as it warms up a little, warming. Very nice, could do with a notch up in abv to double digits.

In tap at the wharf. Dark black with barely perceptible red edges. Aroma is subtle with sweetness and balanced rich malts. Flavour of rich dark malts. Very smooth and creamy. Body is medium to heavy. Finish is sweet first then grainy and bitter from the roasted malt.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great stout! Finally an Irish beer I can be proud of (ok, not too many Irish beers in London other than the obvious one). This is smooth, creamy, a little burnt and bitter with taste of coffee and dark chocolate. I agree it would be even better with a little more alcohol but Iím pretty happy with it the way it is.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml pull-cap bottle. Very dark brown color. Tiny ring head. Milky, bready, caramel, roast in aroma. Roast, rye, bready, ashy, alcohol in taste. After first sip it feels so watery, but then roast kicks in. And roast makes it rough. Later that roughness brings out coffee.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2014 Bottle 330ml, BB 16.02.15. Pours pitch black with tan head. The head stays for some time. Aroma roasted malt, dark chocolate, slight tartness. Flavor: creamy, nice roast, dark chocolate, licorice, some sweetness in the background. Long finish starts more as dark chocolate which transforms to ash. Alcohol is slightly noticeable, but maybe it would be really better with even higher ABV. Overall: good one. I really like the finish and the creamy feeling.
Update: had another bottle and didnít enjoy it as much as last time. Still ok, but as far as imperial stouts go, itís not really great.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
Lovely rich burnt malty stout aroma, but with an almost milky chocolatiness to it. Big and bold in the mouth. Slightly sharp burntness, hinting towards ashiness. Dry finish, dry barky liquorice, again a little ashy, but with some nice bitter dark chocolate too. Slightly too aggressive for something thatís only 7%, I could forgive that in a slightly punchier brew, but then again, that might have more residual sugars, and be gentler. Good, but a bit overdone.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @ The Wharf, Aalborg. 7.0%. As íAnglo-Irish Imperial Stoutí. Pours black with a tan head. Great lacing. Aroma is roasted, slightly tart and with a barbecue/salami note. As it warms, apple comes out. Flavour is roasted and barbecue/salami as well, a bit fruity and with a faint cardboard overtone. Apple as it warms here as well. Finish is roasted and dry, with apple and a slight alcohol note. Overall, it starts out pretty good, but when the apple note kicks in, it messes it up a bit. I actually like that apple note sometimes, but it doesnít really work here. Still, itís an okay beer. 09.01.14.
