(Botella, 330 ml)

Bottle. Pours Black with a tan head. Chocolatey roast malt on the nose and more of the same on the tongue. Cocoa powder and a touch of boozy warmth made this a delicious desert imperial with a dry chalky finish. Very nice.

Cerveza oscura de intenso y particular sabor. Tiene un sabor afrutado y deja un regusto fuerte en la boca.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Fruity, dark malty aroma, notes of red and dark berries, yeasty overtones, imaginary dark chocolate. Taste is roasty dark malty, bitter hoppy overtones, also some dark malty sweetness, a mixture of inexplicit coffee and dark chocolate notes, a nuttily touch. Has of course nothing to do with a "big" Imperial Stout beyond the 10% abv and activates a more restricted flavour-area; still a very robust stout.

BOTTLE 33CL from dcmchew. Look: pitch black, beige frothy to creamy head. Aroma: moderate roast, black malts, licorice/Valerian, perhaps chocolate. Some sweet fruitiness as it warms up, that resembles dark honey rather than dried fruit. Taste: very roasty, a bit acid even, light saltiness, very bitter hoppy finish and some ashes in the after taste.

Quite nice, but the bitterness is a bit over the top and seems unbalanced for the body and level of sweetness.

TET (2540) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JUN 27, 2014
A colablack beer with quite big and beige head that stays as a thin layer. The nose is smooth, coffee, roastiness and chocolate, some lactose and hint of fresh bitter almond. Taste is strongly roasted, liquirice, bitter almond, herbal hops. Medium+ bodied, enough smooth to drink. Slightly different IS than normally, the bitter almond is quite unique nuancee. Good but not a top beer.

330ml brown bottle. Now 7% as per label, best before 16 02 15. Deep brown/blackish pour, surprisingly creamy and sticky tan cap, good thick bands of lace in the glass. Nose has chocolate and roast and maybe a faint nut note. Taste has dark chocolate, roasted malt, a little caramel, and maybe a subtle smokiness from the malt. Quite a roasty and bitter finish. A good brew, mellow for the style, but highly enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2014 Bottle shared with my dad. Pours almost pitch black with a thin shortlasting light brown head. Aromas og coffee and chocolate but a pretty weak smell in general. Strong taste of slightly roasted chocolate and coffee. Slight sweetness. Watery feel to it that sadly makes it quite boring.

Bottle @ Jackl Towers. Another rotbox special. Deep brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Definitely an attractive beer. Strong nose of dark roasted malts, coffee, sweet molasses. Hints of sweet red fruits, cherry skin. Unexpectedly rich and lush aromas. Unfortunately, the flavor isn’t as expansive. Thin burnt toast and dark roasted coffee. Brown sugar and nuts. Charred grain. Strong, almost boozy bitter finish. Medium body, strong carbonation. A let down after a very strong start.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2016 This belongs to the "smooth and drinkable yet tasty and awesome" tier of imperial stouts. Aroma is mostly rich and pleasant roasted malt, with some dark fruits and a yeasty reminiscence. The taste is intense and complex as expected, no trace of alcohol strength but lots of malt, licorice and some kind of floral stuff instead. Really smooth mouthfeel and an interesting and enduring bitter aftertaste which reminds me of a hoppy brown ale.
