Bottle from Super Best. It poors black and oily with a medium foamy brown head, disappearing fast. Powerfull roasted aroma, chocolate malt, sleight fruity alchohol, nice. Very bitter roasted flavor, dry ashyness, hop bitterness aswell. Not too complex, but quite a bitterbomb.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at The Wharf, Aalborg, as Porterhouse Anglo-Irish Imperial Stout
Black color with brown head. Mild aroma of roasted malt and some cardboard, light cheese. Medium body structure, big roasted malt flavor, ashes, some dark chocolate, salty, with strong bitterness. Maybe too aggressive on the roasty side.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours thick and black with a big brown head. Nose is chocolate, oatmeal, coffee and bits of pine and hay. Taste is complex, starts mellow bitter, transitions to sweet for a moment and then packs a bitter punch on the finish. The palate loves the feel here. Smooth and creamy at first, but turns crisp and fizzy in the end, long aftertaste, big body. This is a good one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, cacao and licorice. Flavour of roasted malts, cacao, licorice and dried fruits.Full bodied and rough mouthfeel. Finishes rough, malty and bitter. Lacks character because of the relatively low ABV and rough maltiness. This is more of a stout.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2012 (Bottled) After their celebration 11 % , that had been resting in a bath of whiskey barrels , this was a more sobering offering from this brewery ...dark fruit, chocolate , roast , hops offer the nose ...Big beige head rests above imperial blackness : Drinking this rich and bitter roast , raisins , currants , burnt toast , creamy backdrops ..bitter hops too : Nothing between this and the barrel aged celebration really , both lack refinement but are pleasant and flavorsome .
