Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, whiskey and vanilla. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long chocolate, vanilla, and alcohol finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours dark black with a small tan head. Looks thin. Nose is big vanilla, light smoke, soy sauce and booze. Taste is sweet with some good bitter balance and a big some aftertaste. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, medium body with a big long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle [330ml] shared with garthicus & HogTownHarry -- c/o garthicus. Pours a very dark brown with an average size diminishing frothy light-brown head. Aroma of chocolate, light wood, dark malt, alcohol, coffee and light hops. Flavour is malty along with alcohol, chocolate, coffee and leafy hops. Average bodied, somewhat-creamy mouthfeel. The barrel-aging isn’t overdone which I like, a very good Stout.

Bottle at home - April ’12. Very dark brown verging on black with a thin tan head. Definate whisky aroma floating on the nose allied to dark roasted malts, dark fruits and a pinch of vanilla and a dash of cocoa. Fairly full in body with a good alcohol burn in the finish. I was impressed by this one!

Pour dark dark brown, with no head at all. Aroma is of roasted malts, slight coffee, licorice, wood, whisky, vanilla, asphalt(?). Taste is a little sweet upfront, with a dry, bitter and roasty aftertaste. Medium and rather oily body, with a semi-flat carbonation.

Bottle. Pours an almost pitch black color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, smooth Irish Whiskey, oak, vanilla, tar, ashy and burnt notes, coffee, dark chocolate and dark fruits. The flavor follows the nose, with vanilla, oak, the smooth Irish Whiskey flavor, some subtle alcohol, burnt, tar and ashy notes, dark fruits, dark chocolate and coffee. The body is medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a pretty darn tasty Imperial Stout, but a little too boozy.

garthicus (2907) - Dublin, IRELAND - AUG 14, 2012
Appearance: Pitch black, small but lasting brown head. Aroma: Rich espresso, molasses, blackcurrant, lots of dark chocolate, quite the whiskey notes in there, lots going on. Smells wonderful. Flavour: Wow, quite a big dark fruit flavour at first, stewed winter fruits, lots of coffee, whiskey and chocolate, tons of wood, sweet and sticky mouth feel, alcohol is definitely evident due to the ageing, long sweet molasses finish. Lovely, a real sipper.

330ml bottle shared by garthicus with me and blankboy. Deep but clear ruby-black with a small tan creamy-fizzy head. Aroma is medium roast, coffee, prune, alcohol, red wine ... and sweet vanilla bourbon. Taste follows, sweeter, less prune, a lot less roast - sourness comes in, boozier too - a little unbalanced (7-). Slick, light body, astringent, weakly carbonated, quick dry oaky/boozy slightly sour finish .... not loving it, but not bad.
