Commercial Description:
Notoriously difficult to brew in Germany and called Shizen beer by German Brewers. Haus Weiss offers everything from a classic wheat beer; subtle banana flavour touching on mango.

Draft at Porterhouse Central, Dublin. A wheat beer to be envied. Peachy and lemony. Smooth grain and the proper citrus edge.

Banana and wheat are both strong and well-balanced with accents of clove spiciness and some hints of vanilla and coconut in the aroma. Opaque yellow body is topped by a decent and lasting, bright white head. Overly sweet banana flavour with plenty of slightly sour wheat character and surprisingly stron bitterness in the finish. Spiciness emerges in the aftertaste and lingers on the tongue. Crisp, light body with strong, lively carbonation. Seemingly very well made but not so much to my taste. Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Temple Bar (May-06).

Draft at the London location. At the bar, this was listed at 5.0%. An unclear orange beer with a thin lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of bananas and wheat. The flavor is sweet and artificially candy like with notes of orange, banana, and bubblegum. Too sweet - and too artificial in its impression.

Draught - Porterhouse, London. A hazy yellow-brown coloured beer with a slight off white head. The aroma is full on bubblegum with not much else in the way of estery notes. The taste has some bruised banana and is quite phenolic. Quite a lot going on for a hefe. Decent.

Thier wheat beer was actually pretty nice. Pours a perfect hazy gold with a nice fluffy lasting white head, some lacing. Aroma is lemony (an dnot jsut cuz they thew a lemon in there) yeasty, banana and lots of phenols like clove and vanilla. Flavor is wheaty, citrus, lemon zest, and slightly tart in the end. Nice full body and mouthfeel though.

Draught@brew pub, Dublin. Hazy orange-yellow, creamy white head. Loads of bubblegum and banana in the nose. Loads of bubblegum and wine gums in the flavor. Lemony aftertaste.

20/05/06 Porterhouse Central Dublin. Muddy looking pale straw body with very little head. Strong cloves on initial taste then bubble gum, zesty and mushy banana. Good.
